7 Experiences at Walt Disney World That Have Closed Over the Years

3) Pleasure Island

This section of Downtown Disney, now Disney Springs, was a hot spot for adults to party into the wee hours of the morning. Similar to Church Street Station in Downtown Orlando, Pleasure Island had night clubs, the Comedy Warehouse, Adventurer’s Club and various shops and restaurants. For quite some time, there was even a fireworks display that celebrated New Year’s Eve every night at Pleasure Island. In an effort to make the area more family-friendly, all of the nightclubs at Pleasure Island closed in 2008. The area is now called The Landing at Disney Springs.  Photo credit DIS Unplugged
