For over three decades, Universal Orlando Resort has been home to Halloween Horror Nights (HHN), one of the most iconic and eagerly awaited Halloween events in the world. What started in 1991 as a one-night event has grown into an annual tradition that spans several weeks, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year. Over the years, Halloween Horror Nights has cemented its place as a top-tier Halloween celebration, known for its spine-tingling haunted houses, terrifying scare zones, and iconic horror characters.

At the heart of HHN are its haunted houses—each one carefully crafted to provide an intense, immersive experience. For years, guests have been able to walk through mazes based on classic and contemporary horror movies, including Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. However, the true magic of HHN lies in its original creations. Characters like The Director, The Caretaker, and The Usher have become legendary in their own right, providing Universal with a unique roster of horror figures that are as terrifying as they are memorable. These park-specific characters have remained at the forefront of the event, ensuring that the terror is ever-evolving, and no two experiences are the same.

The immersive quality of HHN is another key aspect that sets it apart from other Halloween events. Universal's team of designers, creative masterminds, and technical experts work tirelessly to craft each haunted house and scare zone to perfection, transforming the park into a labyrinth of horror. Whether it's stepping into the world of The Haunting of Hill House or encountering zombies from The Walking Dead, guests are always left in awe of the attention to detail and the sheer intensity of each attraction.

As much as Halloween Horror Nights has become a staple for Orlando-based horror lovers, Universal is ready to deliver even more horror outside of the seasonal event, creating thrilling, year-round experiences that will keep fans coming back for more.

For the first time ever, Universal Parks & Resorts is introducing a year-round horror experience in Las Vegas. Set to open on August 14, 2025, Universal Horror Unleashed will make its terrifying debut at AREA15, a unique entertainment complex in the heart of the Las Vegas desert. With an expansive 110,000 square feet of space, Universal Horror Unleashed promises to bring the fright to new levels with an immersive experience that will be available to visitors all year long.

This new attraction will feature four chilling haunted houses: Universal Monsters, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scarecrow: The Reaping, and Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer. These houses will showcase Universal’s rich legacy in horror, with well-known monsters from the silver screen rubbing elbows with unsettling original creations. Whether it’s facing off against classic characters like Frankenstein’s Monster and Dracula, running from the terror of Leatherface, or experiencing the demonic horror of The Exorcist, Universal Horror Unleashed will have something to terrify every kind of horror fan.

What sets Universal Horror Unleashed apart from the company's other horror events is that it will be open year-round. No longer will horror fans have to wait for Halloween to get their fix; this new attraction will offer continuous, high-quality scares. With a variety of ticket options ranging from $59 to $99, fans can purchase one-time general admission or unlimited access passes, allowing them to experience the terror as often as they like. As expected with any Universal experience, the intensity of the content is high, and Universal has made it clear that this attraction is intended for a mature audience. As such, it is not recommended for children under 13.

In addition to the haunted houses, Universal Horror Unleashed will feature themed food and beverage offerings, including craft cocktails and deliciously terrifying bites. A retail store will offer exclusive merchandise for those looking to take home a piece of the fright. This will make Universal Horror Unleashed a must-visit destination for horror fans in Las Vegas, a city already famous for its over-the-top entertainment.
