Disneyland Paris Resort has introduced a new policy for character meet-and-greets, and it’s leaving many guests disappointed. As of now, an “invitation” is required to meet several Disney Princesses and Olaf, and the experiences are filling up fast, leaving countless kids turned away from their favorite character experiences.

The new Virtual Queue system was first introduced at Disneyland Paris Resort in June, and it included two highly sought-after meet-and-greet locations: the Princess Pavilion at Disneyland Park and Meet Olaf at Walt Disney Studios Park. Instead of waiting in long standby lines, guests now sign up for specific time slots using the Disneyland Paris Resort app. This system helps reduce wait times, allowing families to enjoy other attractions while waiting for their turn.
However, while the system does alleviate long lines, it also presents challenges for many visitors. Some guests, particularly international visitors or those unfamiliar with the technology, may not realize the new process until they arrive at the park. Unfortunately, by then, it might be too late. At Disneyland Paris Resort, the Virtual Queue reservations for Princess Pavilion and Meet Olaf have started filling up early in the day, leaving many families without access to the experiences.

On July 14, @PixiedustDLP posted photos of signs explaining the Virtual Queue process in French and English. The signs were marked with “fully booked” labels, indicating that all the available time slots for the day had been taken.

One of the signs reads: “Dear Visitors, To hold court with a Princess, a royal invitation is requested. Please scan the QR code to book your private audience.”

Although these changes aim to streamline the process, they’ve also left many Disney Park guests disappointed. While other character meet-and-greets remain available without the need for a Virtual Queue reservation, if meeting a Disney Princess or Olaf is a top priority, guests will need to sign up as soon as they enter the park. Registration for the Virtual Queue is available after a Disney cast member scans your ticket at the Disneyland Park or Walt Disney Studios Park entrance.
