Disney World Replaces Pirates of the Caribbean Ride Costumes

Walt Disney World Resort has unveiled brand-new costumes for cast members at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Magic Kingdom Park. This exciting update comes just ahead of the opening of the Beak and Barrel tavern, a family-friendly lounge set to debut later this month.

Earlier this week, Walt Disney World Resort revealed that the Beak and Barrel will officially open its doors on Friday, August 29, 2025. The new lounge is taking over the former Pirates League space, conveniently located next to the Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, the Pirates of the Caribbean ride gift shop.

The tavern will offer guests a selection of small bites and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages in a pirate-themed environment. Like Oga’s Cantina at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Beak and Barrel will offer a 45-minute reservation window for each guest experience. Reservations will open on August 14, 2025.

On August 7, Walt Disney World Resort shared a preview of the new cast member costumes for Pirates of the Caribbean, Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, and the Beak and Barrel. The new outfits include a mix-and-match design featuring shirts, vests, pants, sashes, shorts, and hats. These new costumes will replace the previous attire worn by Disney cast members at the attraction, its gift shop, and the new Beak and Barrel tavern.

While Walt Disney World Resort has not yet confirmed the exact debut date for the new costumes, it’s likely that the changes will coincide with the grand opening of the Beak and Barrel later this month. It remains unclear whether cast members can mix and match the costume components themselves or if each piece will be specific to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, gift shop, or tavern.
