For more than three decades, Jurassic Park has been revisited, reinvented, and expanded through sequels, spinoffs, and theme park attractions. Yet despite all the games and adaptations that have come and gone, players have never truly been able to step into the original story of Steven Spielberg’s 1993 masterpiece—until now.
Saber Interactive’s upcoming first-person action-adventure video game “Jurassic Park: Survival” will change that in a way no film tie-in ever dared to attempt.
A newly revealed behind-the-scenes look at the game shows painstaking re-creations of Isla Nublar, complete with the Visitor Center’s towering T-Rex skeleton, InGen facilities, and other instantly recognizable landmarks.
What's caught the attention of fans, however, is the skeleton itself. In the film, it’s famously reduced to rubble when Rexy clashes with the raptors in the atrium. But it's in pristine condition in the footage, which suggests players may not just be experiencing the aftermath of the movie, but also moments within it.
It's an intriguing possibility. Instead of strictly acting as a follow-up set 24 hours later, the game may also allow fans to walk alongside the events of the original film—an unprecedented chance to interact with the characters who defined the franchise.

For years, Jurassic Park video games have largely served as spin-offs, rushed tie-ins, or abstract adaptations. But this could be the first time players see themselves in the middle of the action, potentially brushing against the storylines of Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, Ian Malcolm, and John Hammond in meaningful ways.
Of course, the narrative still centers on Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist working under Dr. Henry Wu, whose struggle for survival drives the game forward. But the idea that her story overlaps with the chaos on Nublar opens up possibilities far beyond traditional survival gameplay.
Fans have been waiting three decades for a way to engage directly with the story that started it all, and “Jurassic Park: Survival” looks like it might finally deliver.
