Disneyland Resort is no stranger to updates, refurbishments, and mysterious closures. Sometimes, the changes are clearly advertised, while other times, they seem to appear out of nowhere. Disneyland Park guests recently noticed one of those sudden shifts at the Fantasyland Theatre.
On September 16, 2025, WDWNT reported that the Fantasyland Theatre had debuted a new look at Disneyland Park. Guests say the venue looked “very clean and shiny” and smelled of new paint, indicating that crews have been working in the area in recent weeks.
Crews repainted the cement outdoor floor leading to the Troubadour Tavern seating area, down to the bleacher seating area, and behind the tech booth in a curved green, blue, and gray pattern. The flooring in front of the stage is now an alternating blue checkerboard pattern. The cement under the general bleacher seating area was also painted plain beige.
This isn’t the first facelift for the Fantasyland Theatre this year. Back in January, Disneyland Resort installed a brand-new banner with a stars-and-vines pattern on the archway above the Fantasyland Theatre stage.
The wooden fencing around the Fantasyland Theatre is now a deep brown color with a blue and yellow floral motif, similar to the banner installed in January. The tech booth has also been repainted.

Despite its fresh appearance, the Fantasyland Theatre isn’t currently home to any scheduled entertainment. After hosting the Pixar Pals Playtime Party over the summer, the theatre is now empty and unavailable to Disney Park guests.
Disneyland Resort has indicated that the space will reopen in November for Holiday Fun with Santa & Friends, a limited-time offering tied to the Disneyland Holidays 2025 festivities. Still, it remains unclear whether the most recent round of renovations is simply routine upkeep or part of a larger plan for new entertainment at Disneyland Park.
