Authorities have confirmed new details following a third reported death at Walt Disney World Resort within just ten days, marking a difficult month for the Central Florida vacation destination. The most recent incident occurred at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, one of the property’s most iconic Deluxe Resort hotels located just steps away from Magic Kingdom.
Last Thursday, Disney Fanatic reported that emergency responders were called to Disney’s Contemporary Resort for an apparent medical emergency. Eyewitnesses described seeing ambulances and road closures, and cast members instructing families not to look out their rear-facing hotel windows as the investigation unfolded. Guests noted that towels, carts, and a white tent were used to block the view of the area.
A video posted on TikTok by @aoitfamily appeared to show crime scene tape stretched near the Bay Lake Tower pool area. The user stated that families who inquired about the situation were told it was a “medical emergency.”

On Monday, a representative for the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office told TMZ that on October 23, 2025, 28-year-old Matthew Cohn died from multiple traumatic injuries after falling from Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. His manner of death was ruled a suicide. According to The Sun, Cohn paid in cash on the evening of Wednesday, October 22, and checked into a room on the 12th floor.
The recent loss follows two other tragic incidents at Walt Disney World Resort in the same month. On October 14, reports of a possible Monorail collision near Disney’s Contemporary Resort circulated online. Authorities later confirmed that 31-year-old guest Summer Equitz had died by suicide after falling from a balcony at the hotel. Despite initial rumors, officials stated that the Monorail did not collide with the guest.
Just one week later, on October 21, first responders were called to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds for a “person down.” Investigators determined that a man in his 60s died of natural causes following a medical emergency at the Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
