Disney World Confirms Major Relocation for ‘Little Mermaid’ Meet and Greet

If Ariel is on your must-meet list during your next trip to Disney's Hollywood Studios, you’ll need to head to a new spot. Starting October 28, the famous princess from under the sea is waving goodbye (for now) to her home at Walt Disney Presents and relocating to the scenic Echo Lake area.

You’ll find her just across from 50's Prime Time Café from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. It’s being called a “temporary” move, but Disney hasn’t revealed how long it’ll last.

From Hidden Gem to Center Stage

The old meet and greet area was something of a best-kept secret. Many guests stumbled upon Ariel while exploring Animation Courtyard. That low-key vibe made it a great place for families who wanted a calmer experience.

But this new location? It’s right in the middle of the action. Echo Lake is a lively part of the park, filled with foot traffic, nearby dining, and entertainment. For Ariel, that means more visibility. For guests, it means easier access—but also likely longer lines.

Lined Up With the Holiday Season

The timing is no accident. With Disney Jollywood Nights just around the corner, Echo Lake will transform into one of the park’s most festive spots. Retro holiday decorations and sparkling lights will surround Ariel’s new meet and greet area, making it an ideal backdrop for family photos.

This move lets Ariel be a bigger part of the holiday atmosphere while Disney uses the space at Walt Disney Presents for other operational needs. It’s a win-win for both sides.

Ariel’s Popularity Endures

What’s interesting about this relocation is that Ariel has been a fixture at the park for years. In an era where characters are constantly rotated in and out, she remains a fan favorite. The fact that Disney is giving her a more prominent stage shows just how beloved she still is.

For guests, it’s a great opportunity to meet a classic Disney princess in a brand-new environment. Whether it’s a short-term holiday adjustment or something more permanent, Ariel’s move to Echo Lake is already creating buzz.

Brittni Ward

Brittni is a Disney and Universal fan; one of her favorite things at both parks is collecting popcorn buckets. While at Disney World Resort, Brittni meets the princesses and rides Kilimanjaro Safaris. At Universal, Brittni enjoys the Minions and watching Animal Actors on Location! When not at Disney World Resort or Universal Orlando, Brittni spends time with her family and pets.
