Disney Officially Erases ‘Frozen’ From Theme Park Line-Up, Effective This Month

As the holiday season approaches, one of Disney’s most wholesome winter characters is disappearing from Disneyland Paris Resort. The European Disney park has confirmed changes to its entertainment schedule that will temporarily replace the Frozen (2013) favorite Olaf with characters from Zootopia (2016).

At the end of October, fans noticed that the popular meet-and-greet with Olaf at Animation Celebration in Walt Disney Studios Park was removed from the entertainment schedule. According to the Disneyland Paris Resort calendar, the snowman encounter will be unavailable beginning November 26, 2025, and is scheduled to return on January 6, 2026.

Although the European Disney park didn’t announce the reason for Olaf’s absence, the timing coincides with the premiere of Walt Disney Animation’s Zootopia 2 (2025).

Around the same time Olaf disappears from the schedule, Disneyland Paris Resort will celebrate the release of Zootopia 2. The event officially begins November 26, 2025 — the same day Olaf’s meet-and-greet closes. Disney hasn’t detailed what’s in store for the limited-time offering, but fans can expect themed food, merchandise, and possibly appearances by Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.

Due to the overlapping timing, Disney Parks fans are speculating that Judy and Nick will temporarily replace Olaf in Animation Celebration until January 2026. Although this has not been confirmed by Disneyland Paris Resort, many guests are convinced that the park is shifting its focus to promote the new Zootopia sequel.

Frozen’s Return and Future at Disneyland Paris

Despite Olaf’s short-term removal, Frozen fans have no reason to worry. The character is set to return in January 2026, and even bigger Frozen experiences are on the horizon.

In spring 2026, Walt Disney Studios Park will transform into Disney Adventure World, featuring immersive new lands inspired by fan-favorite films. Among these additions is the long-awaited World of Frozen: a dedicated Frozen land that will include the Frozen Ever After boat ride and Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, a family coaster attraction.

Disneyland Paris Resort has also confirmed plans for a new land inspired by The Lion King (1994) and a log flume attraction within Disney Adventure World. However, no construction timeline has been provided.

Zootopia Expands Around the Globe

While fans await the theatrical release of Zootopia 2, Disney parks worldwide are already celebrating the sequel. On November 7, Walt Disney World Resort debuted Zootopia: Better Zoogether! — a new show inside the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

The attraction features an advanced audio-animatronic of Clawhauser, similar to the one found in Zootopia: Hot Pursuit at Shanghai Disneyland. The 4D show reimagines the story of the fourth Walt Disney World Resort theme park, suggesting that the animals of Zootopia sculpted the Tree of Life itself.

Alongside the new show, limited-time food, drinks, and merchandise inspired by Zootopia 2 are available throughout Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Guests can also meet Nick and Judy in their new outfits from the film on Discovery Island.
