EPCOT’s World Nature area has long been home to one of the park’s most distinctive attractions: Living with the Land. Since 1982, guests have cruised through scenes of deserts, forests, and rainforests, all while learning how resourceful farming methods can help nourish communities.
The experience continues inside vast greenhouses, where cast members and Disney scientists demonstrate real techniques like hydroponics and aquaponics. Much of the produce is served directly to EPCOT restaurants such as Garden Grill and Sunshine Seasons.

That mission aligns closely with EPCOT’s original vision of forward-thinking environmental responsibility. However, a seasonal change is on the horizon. The official Walt Disney World website notes, “From November 28 to December 30, 2025, Living with the Land–Glimmering Greenhouses will be offered. During this time, Living with the Land will not be available.”
Even before the holiday edition officially begins, early hints have started appearing throughout the ride. Some visitors experiencing the attraction have already noticed ornaments, wreaths, and lighting displays along the route—suggesting a hybrid presentation leading up to the November 28 transformation.
Simultaneously, the attraction made headlines due to an unexpected event during Halloween festivities. One of the boats experienced trouble and came to a halt, leading Cast Members to evacuate guests as a precaution. The moment was captured and uploaded by TikTok user Wallandwfhatdisney, whose video neared 30,000 views in its first day since being posted.

The caption stated: “Current situation. Boat in front of me started to sink and all occupants had to evacuate. We ended up chilling in our boat until cast members escorted us off and out the back. And people say living with the land is boring!!”
The footage also revealed a backstage route as guests exited through restricted areas—something rarely seen unless an evacuation is required. While these moments are not common, large theme park operations occasionally face technical setbacks, and social media now quickly amplifies them.
With Glimmering Greenhouses already taking shape, now may be the last chance for guests to experience Living with the Land in its classic form.
