Firefighters Pull Injured Teen From Disneyland Ride

Anaheim firefighters responded to Disneyland Park’s Matterhorn Bobsleds on December 28 to assist a teenager who became trapped in his ride vehicle. The situation grew more complicated when the guest’s electric conveyance vehicle battery (ECV) died, trapping him near the Disneyland Resort attraction until a replacement arrived.

TikTok user @sydney.burghardt posted a video documenting firefighters extracting her teenage brother from the Matterhorn Bobsleds. The footage shows emergency responders carrying the Disney Park guest through the ride exit after he became “stuck” in the sled-shaped vehicle.

“Say ‘Happiest Place on Earth,'” the boy’s father joked in the video. Emergency personnel joined the fun, encouraging the teenager to “smile” as they transported him. After transferring him to his mobility device, firefighters presented the teen with a special button acknowledging his cooperation.

Unclear Circumstances

The video doesn’t clarify what caused the teenager to become trapped. The Matterhorn Bobsleds may have experienced a breakdown requiring a complete evacuation, or the guest’s leg injury may have prevented him from exiting normally at the unload station.

Regardless of the cause, Disneyland Park temporarily closed the attraction to facilitate the response from the firefighters. At publication time, Matterhorn Bobsleds had reopened and resumed normal operations.
