Fire at Disney World Hotel: What Guests Should Know

Emergency crews rushed to Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside Monday night following fire reports at the Moderate Walt Disney World Resort hotel. The response occurred during one of the busiest weeks at the Central Florida vacation destination, as families celebrate the period between Christmas and New Year's.

First responders received notification about a fire at Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside shortly before 8:30 p.m. on December 29. Scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime shared a fire alert as the emergency response unfolded:

Emergency dispatch tracked the response to somewhere along Riverside Drive at the Moderate Disney Resort hotel. However, Walt Disney World Resort's emergency system often records calls at centralized addresses across theme parks and resort properties, meaning the fire's actual location could differ from the tracked coordinates.

Neither Walt Disney World Resort representatives nor local authorities have released statements about Monday's fire at Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. While law enforcement frequently publishes reports about criminal or suspicious incidents at Disney parks, non-criminal cases, such as fires or medical emergencies, rarely generate public documentation.

Normal Operations Continue

Guests staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter should not experience operational disruptions due to Monday evening's emergency response. As of the publication of this article, all transportation services, dining locations, and retail shops at both Moderate Disney Resort hotels are operating normally.
