Disney Announces New ‘The Lion King’ Coming March 10, 2026

A fireworks spectacular celebrating The Lion King (1994) debuts next month aboard Disney's newest cruise ship. “The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky” premieres March 10, 2026, when the Disney Adventure begins sailing from Singapore, bringing the beloved animated film's music and characters to the high seas.

Disney Parks Blog announced Tuesday that “The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky” will feature pyrotechnics and dramatic lighting celebrating the story, music, and characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios' 1994 film.

“Introducing ‘The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky' 🎆 — a new fireworks show on the Disney Adventure that will pay tribute to the iconic Walt Disney Animation Studios film 🦁,” Disney posted on X (formerly Twitter).

The nighttime spectacular includes new arrangements of “Circle of Life,” “Hakuna Matata,” “He Lives in You,” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” recorded by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Ndlovu Youth Choir from South Africa. Shah Rukh Khan—voice of Mufasa in the Hindi-language versions of The Lion King (2019) and Mufasa (2024)—narrates the show.

“The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky” plays on select nights during three- and four-night Disney Adventure sailings. Showtimes will be posted on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and available from Disney cast members after boarding.

Disney Adventure Maiden Voyage

Disney Adventure joins the Disney Cruise Line fleet with its maiden voyage from Singapore on March 10, 2026. Construction is complete, and the ship is currently on a global tour before its first official sailing.

The vessel targets the Southeast Asian market with entertainment inspired by Marvel Studios, Duffy and Friends, Disney Princesses, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The stern features oversized sculptures of Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse. The ship debuts the first-ever outdoor Disney Imagination Garden, including a three-deck-high “Storybook Castle” sculpture.

Disney Adventure offers rotating dining split into sister restaurants: Enchanted Summer Restaurant and Pixar Market Restaurant, Hollywood Spotlight Club and Navigator's Club, and Animator's Palate and Animator's Table. Merchandise locations feature National Geographic and Duffy and Friends themes.

Beyond pools and splash pads, the ship includes theme park-style attractions: Ironcycle Test Run (a roller coaster at sea), Pym Quantum Racers, and Groot Galaxy Spin.
