WDWNT documented the problem on February 16, showing extensive mold patches on a blue Slinky Dog mural that forms part of the outdoor queue for the Toy Story Land roller coaster. The photos reveal widespread contamination along surfaces that thousands of Disney Park guests touch daily.
Child-Height Contamination Raises Concerns
The mold sits low on the wall, within easy reach of children who naturally run their hands—or press their faces—against queue barriers during long waits. The affected mural also displays cracked paint or decals and completely peeled sections, damage that may result from mold deterioration or guest tampering of already-compromised surfaces.
Slinky Dog Dash opened in 2018 when Toy Story Land debuted at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The outdoor queue's constant exposure to Florida‘s humid climate creates ideal conditions for mold growth, requiring vigilant maintenance to prevent buildup.
