Test Track Closed at EPCOT on February 19

Test Track remained closed Thursday morning for 90 minutes past EPCOT’s opening, then suffered repeated breakdowns that trapped theme park guests in a “30-minute” standby line for nearly two hours.

The World Discovery attraction failed to open with the park, according to BlueSky user WDWStats, which tracks Walt Disney World Resort ride downtime:

When Test Track finally opened, the posted 30-minute wait attracted crowds. Reddit user u/snampally joined the line shortly before 10:30 a.m.:

“At 10.20am, I fell for the trap. I noticed 30 min wait for ‘Test Track’ ride and I flocked in like everyone else.”

By 12:15 p.m., the Disney Park guest was still waiting.

“Its 12.15pm right now, we are still waiting in line wirh atleast 10 more minutes wait before we can hop on the ride,” they wrote. “We’ve had one ‘temporary close’ which was communicated by fellow riders as they walked back in the lanes.”

Disney cast members provided minimal information about the problems:

“We heard the ‘delayed ride’ message 3 times, which has not given any useful information about the delay. Just the generic ‘we’re experiencing some issues, there will be a delay. Apologies.'”

Test Track reopened July 22, 2025, following its third reimagining announced at Destination D23 2023. The updated version features first-ever in-vehicle technology, advanced scenery, and improved car-simulation testing while maintaining the signature 65-mph outdoor finale.

Despite being open for seven months, the attraction continues experiencing technical difficulties with its new systems. Walt Disney World Resort has not commented on Thursday’s extended downtime or the operational pauses that left guests stranded in line far beyond posted wait times.

  1. Oh Disney, my Disney where have you gone? You have gone for the money! DVC membership over loyal attendees. Outrageous prices for Lightening Lane rather than the former Fast Passes that were included in your Resort package. Rides breaking down time and time again and this all started when you replaced all of the Engineers. Why are you building and building all at one time? Why so many physical fights in your Parks? Why did you start serving alcohol? Why did you put a bar in the lobby of one of the most majestic hotels? I remember bringing my Grandchildren years ago and each and every year it was as close to perfect as
perfect could be and then………much loved restaurants have dropped out of the dining plans, dining reservations sell out in 10 minutes? C’mon where is the equal playing field?
