Buzz Lightyear's name has temporarily gone missing from the entrance of his own attraction at Walt Disney World Resort.
A New Space Ranger Spin Sign With One Thing Missing

Earlier this month, Walt Disney World Resort installed a Space Mountain-style marquee sign in front of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park. The new sign carries the same distinctive white spire design as the Space Mountain sign nearby — a nod to the iconic roller coaster that defines the Tomorrowland skyline — and features an outer-space-themed background with digital wait-time displays beneath.
WDWMAGIC shared a photo of the new marquee on March 10, noting one conspicuous gap in the finished product:
The new marquee is now installed at Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. It features a Space Mountain-style white spire with digital wait time clocks beneath. Just the attraction name text still needs to be added. Full details in the comments.
As of now, the “Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin” logo has not been painted onto the sign, meaning the beloved Toy Story (1995) character is technically absent from the entrance to the ride bearing his name. That finishing touch is presumably coming before the doors reopen next month.
What's Changed Inside
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin closed in early August 2025 after 27 years of operation for a comprehensive overhaul. Walt Disney World Resort announced plans to upgrade the attraction with more interactive targets, improved blasters, and all-new ride vehicles. Guests returning will also encounter updated props and a brand-new audio-animatronic robot character named Buddy, who walks riders through the art of wielding their blasters.

The updated ride even includes references to the upcoming Pixar film Toy Story 5 (2026).
On March 12, Walt Disney World Resort confirmed that the reimagined Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin will officially premiere at Magic Kingdom Park on April 8, 2026.
