Disney World’s Newest Alert Could Impact Your 2026 Hotel Stay

Families with upcoming reservations for one of Walt Disney World Resort's most unusual hotel rooms have a new round of construction to factor into their plans.

Walt Disney World Resort confirmed this month that the Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa are entering a phased refurbishment. Construction permits filed in December 2025 list Land-Ron Inc. as the general contractor on the project, with permit paperwork running through January 7, 2027 — though Walt Disney World Resort has confirmed the work is expected to wrap in mid-September 2026.

The phased approach means the Treehouse Villas won't go offline all at once. Disney will cycle through individual units in stages, keeping a reduced but steady inventory of rooms available throughout the project. Guests with existing reservations are not expected to see any changes to their bookings as a result.

Construction activity will be confined to daytime hours, consistent with Walt Disney World Resort‘s standard practice of scheduling the noisiest work while most resort guests are out at the theme parks or Disney Springs. Still, some daytime noise on the property should be expected.

One additional closure is tied to the project: the tennis and basketball courts at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will close on March 23 and reopen in June 2026.

A Disney World Resort Hotel Already Deep in Refurbishment Season

The Treehouse Villas announcement is the second refurbishment news to come out of Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa in 2026. Walt Disney World Resort confirmed weeks ago that the Turf Club dining location would also undergo significant work this year, with closures rolling across the property in carefully sequenced stages.

The Turf Club Lounge closes first, shutting down from early April through early August 2026. During that stretch, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will stay open and operate a pop-up bar serving a limited menu inspired by the lounge. The Turf Club Patio then closes from early to mid-August 2026. Once the Patio and Lounge reopen, the Bar & Grill itself will close from mid-August through mid-September 2026 for its own refurbishment.

Guests with questions about how either project might affect their stay are encouraged to stop by the Front Desk.
