The iconic walkway leading to Cinderella Castle is getting some much-needed attention. Thanks to the construction project, Magic Kingdom Park guests will need to navigate around sections of Main Street, U.S.A. that are temporarily off-limits.
Fresh Pavement Outside Crystal Arts

Disney Fanatic first reported on construction activity along Main Street, U.S.A. last week, when stanchions and ropes appeared around a significant stretch of sidewalk outside the Crystal Arts store, cutting off that portion of the walkway from guest foot traffic.
By Monday, March 23, the repair work had already moved to the next phase. WDWNT shared a photo showing freshly poured pavement outside Crystal Arts, noticeably newer and smoother than the surrounding worn surface.
The area remains roped off and stanchioned while the new pavement finishes curing, protecting it from the constant foot traffic generated by Magic Kingdom Park throughout the day. During high-traffic periods like rope drop and parades, Disney cast members are positioned throughout the blocked area to guide theme park guests toward accessible routes.

A second trouble spot is visible further down Main Street, U.S.A., where a damaged section of sidewalk has been covered with red and yellow boards to keep the area safe for Magic Kingdom Park guests until repairs can be completed. Based on what happened outside Crystal Arts, that section will likely receive the same fresh pavement treatment in the coming days.
Walt Disney World Resort has not issued any statement about the scope of the project or how much of Main Street, U.S.A.'s pavement is slated for repair. Disney Fanatic will continue following developments along the iconic walkway as they emerge.
