Disney World does not send you a personalized email before your trip listing everything that will be closed when you arrive. That is not how it works. You can find closure information on the Walt Disney World website calendar if you know where to look and you check it close enough to your travel dates for it to be current. Most guests do not do this. Most guests find out about closures when they are standing in front of a closed sign at the park.
June 2026 is a relatively clean month at Walt Disney World from a major ride closure perspective. The resort just had one of its biggest single-day openings in recent memory on May 26, with multiple new experiences debuting across all four parks simultaneously. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad returned in May after more than a year offline. The momentum is positive.
But there are closures worth knowing about before you go, and one or two of them will affect guests with specific plans around the affected locations.
Magic Kingdom
The ride picture at Magic Kingdom in June is genuinely good news. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is back, which means the park enters June without a major headliner in refurbishment for the first time in a long time. The closure to note is not a ride at all.
Big Top Souvenirs, the circus-themed store in Fantasyland's Storybook Circus area, has been closed since February and remains closed through June. A reopening is expected this year, but no specific date has been announced. For guests planning to shop there, the closure is worth noting. For everyone else, Magic Kingdom in June looks solid.
EPCOT
Refreshment Port near the Canada Pavilion is closed through June. The food outpost is being transformed into a new concept called La Poutinerie, sponsored by Air Canada and offering what Disney has described as a Canadian classic with a twist. Given the name and the longtime presence of poutine at Refreshment Port, the dish is almost certainly going to anchor the new menu.
No opening date has been announced. No menu details have been released. Construction work is ongoing through June. For guests who have made Refreshment Port a regular stop during EPCOT visits, the closure means finding an alternative for this trip.
Animal Kingdom
The situation at Animal Kingdom in June is connected to the opening of Bluey's Wild World and the broader Conservation Station transition surrounding it. Bluey's Wild World has been operating with a virtual queue that fills in seconds every morning since opening day. The rest of Conservation Station, including the former Affection Section area, is a different story.
That section remains closed through at least June 14. After June 15, the closure is not marked on the Walt Disney World five-day calendar, and operating hours were not listed as of the most recent update either. Guests planning Conservation Station visits beyond the Bluey experience should check the My Disney Experience app in the days leading up to their visit for the current status.
Hollywood Studios
Hollywood Studios has no major closures scheduled for June and enters the month in its strongest position in a long time. Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is open after its reimagining. The new Walt Disney Studios area is operating with The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure and Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! in a dedicated soundstage. The new Smugglers Run Mandalorian and Grogu mission has been running since May 22. The Magic of Disney Animation is coming later this summer.
For guests visiting Hollywood Studios in June, there is genuinely more to do there than there has been in years.
The One Thing to Remember at Disney World
The scheduled closures on the Disney World calendar are what is planned. Any attraction can go down unscheduled on any given day for any number of reasons. Keeping the My Disney Experience app open throughout the day and checking attraction status in real time are the most reliable ways to adapt when something unexpected happens.
The June closure picture is manageable. The closures are mostly dining and retail, rather than headline rides. Know the list before you go, and you will not be finding out at the park.
