Oogie Boogie Bash has built its reputation one sold-out night at a time. If you have been before, you already know what makes it worth planning a trip around. If you have not, the short version is this: Disney California Adventure transforms after dark on select nights during Halloween season into something genuinely different from a regular park day, with exclusive entertainment, characters you will not see at any other time of year, and an atmosphere that the Disneyland Resort does better than anyone else in the business.

The 2026 event details are now confirmed. Thirty-three dates. A brand new street party headlining the entertainment lineup. Tickets going on sale in June with pre-sale access for Magic Key Holders starting even earlier. And a D23 Members-only night that adds another layer of exclusivity to an event that was already competitive to get into.

Dates and Hours

Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 runs on 33 select nights at Disney California Adventure from August 18 through October 31. The party officially runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., but ticket holders get early park entry starting at 3 p.m.
The schedule follows a Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday pattern through most of the season before closing out on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31. September 27 is set aside exclusively for D23 Members, with tickets available through D23.com beginning June 16.
The full date list: August 18, 20, 23, 25, 27, 30. September 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29. October 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29, 31.
Ticket Sale Windows

General public tickets go on sale June 18, 2026, no earlier than 9 a.m. PST. Magic Key Holders get earlier access in two waves.
Inspire Magic Key Holders can purchase during a limited pre-sale on June 16. All Magic Key Holders get pre-sale access on June 17, also with limited availability. General public sale opens June 18. The D23 Members-only night on September 27 goes on sale June 16 through D23.com.
Pre-sale availability is limited, which means the earlier your access window opens, the better your odds on popular dates. October dates and Halloween night in particular tend to move fastest. If your Magic Key level gives you June 16 access and you are targeting a late-season date, that pre-sale window is the one to use.
The New Entertainment: Madame Leota Takes the Streets
The headline addition for 2026 is “Madame Leota's Swinging Wake — A Haunted Mansion Street Party,” and it is the kind of announcement that lands differently if you have a soft spot for The Haunted Mansion.
The new street party brings the world of The Haunted Mansion directly into California Adventure, with Madame Leota hosting a séance and swinging wake featuring happy haunts, ghostly dancing, and what Disney is describing as multiple show-stopping moments across the experience. The whole thing is framed around beckoning all 999 happy haunts, which is an appropriately ambitious premise for a Haunted Mansion-themed street party.
Guests who want an elevated viewing experience can purchase the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party as an add-on. This year's Dessert Party includes a new selection of treats themed to Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Reservations will open on Disneyland.com later this summer alongside additional details.
Everything Else the Night Includes
The new street party anchors the entertainment lineup, but the rest of the Oogie Boogie Bash experience is built around things that have become traditions for a reason.
Villains Grove takes over Redwood Creek Challenge Trail and turns it into an immersive nighttime world inspired by Disney villains. The Queen of Hearts and Dr. Facilier are among those represented in the atmospheric, walk-through environment. At night, with Disney's lighting design working at full capacity, it is one of the more genuinely stunning things the Disneyland Resort produces during the Halloween season.
Trick-or-treating along immersive treat trails runs throughout the park during party hours, alongside themed bites available exclusively to party guests. Characters and villains who do not appear during regular park operation make appearances for meet-and-greets and photo opportunities throughout California Adventure.
At select times during the evening, Ichabod Crane makes his way through the park pursued by the Headless Horseman. It is a brief moment but one that consistently earns a reaction from guests who catch it, and it is worth positioning yourself to see at least once during the night.
Building a Disneyland Trip Around Oogie Boogie Bash
The practical reality of planning around this event is that the ticket purchase and the trip planning need to happen close together, not sequentially.
Oogie Boogie Bash dates sell out, and the more desirable nights go first. October dates, Sundays, and Halloween itself are historically the fastest to disappear. If your travel schedule is flexible, a Tuesday or Thursday in August or early September gives you more breathing room on both tickets and hotel availability. If you are set on a specific date, being ready to book the moment your access window opens is not an overreaction.
The 3 p.m. early entry is a genuine advantage worth building into your day. Arriving at California Adventure in the afternoon gives you time on attractions and food before the party programming starts at 6. Five hours of dedicated party time from 6 to 11 is substantial, but the afternoon window stretches a good Oogie Boogie Bash night into a full day.
Resort accommodations during Halloween season at Disneyland fill up at their own pace, and the on-property and Good Neighbor Hotel options nearest to the parks are the first to go. Booking your hotel at the same time you lock in party tickets is the cleanest approach. Leaving it for later creates unnecessary uncertainty in a trip that has a fixed event date anchoring it.
For first-timers, the event works well for guests of all ages. The trick-or-treating and character experiences appeal to younger kids. Villains Grove, the Headless Horseman, and the new Madame Leota street party give older guests and adults plenty to engage with. Most families find they can move between all of it within the five-hour party window without feeling rushed.
