An audience watching Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After at Disney's Hollywood Studios was recently walked out of the theater mid-performance, with no explanation from anyone on stage or backstage about what had gone wrong. Here's what we know about this unusual evacuation at Walt Disney World Resort.
The Show Stopped, the Curtains Fell

Instagram user @smooremagic was in the theater when it happened and captured the moment on video:
At the end of Cruella’s performance, the curtains suddenly dropped! Has this ever happened to you?

The sequence played out without any live cast member announcement. The curtains dropped, and a pre-recorded message took over the speakers:
“Your attention, please. Due to unforeseen circumstances, this performance of Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After must be canceled. Please gather your belongings and exit the theater safely.”

Guests collected their things and made their way out of the theater, with Disney cast members directing the evacuation but providing no additional information about what had triggered the cancellation.
What Caused the Evacuation?
Without any statement from Walt Disney World Resort — which is the resort's standard posture when it comes to temporary show and attraction closures — the audience was left to speculate. The guest who filmed the incident shared her best guess in the comments:
“Never found out why! I suspect there was an issue with mics because Cruella was kind of hard to hear but her segment was over when this happened so.”

An audio malfunction during Cruella de Vil's portion of the show is the most plausible explanation based on what was observed, but nothing has been confirmed. Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After was back on its regular performance schedule at the time of this report.
