Disney roller coasters attract millions of riders every year, but not every attraction creates the same experience for every guest. Beyond the posted height requirements, some rides present additional challenges that can leave visitors feeling uncomfortable long before they reach the exit.

Popular Coasters Continue Drawing Crowds
Disney fans have no shortage of coaster options.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind remains one of EPCOT's biggest attractions, while TRON Lightcycle / Run consistently pulls long lines at Magic Kingdom. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train continues to dominate Fantasyland, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad remains one of the park's classic experiences.
Meanwhile, Slinky Dog Dash remains a major draw at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Although these rides differ dramatically in size and intensity, they all share one thing in common: height requirements designed to keep guests safe.
For some attractions, though, those posted requirements only tell part of the story.
Barnstormer May Be Small, But It Creates Big Complaints
Many guests think of Barnstormer as a simple children's coaster.
Located in Storybook Circus in Magic Kingdom, the ride follows Goofy and the Great Goofini on a whimsical aerial adventure. Disney introduced the current version during the New Fantasyland expansion after retiring the original attraction in Mickey's Toontown Fair.
Young riders often love the coaster because it delivers just enough excitement without being intimidating.
The same cannot always be said for adults.
Taller Guests Often Feel Squeezed
One of the biggest complaints surrounding Barnstormer involves the size of the ride vehicles.
While Disney only enforces a minimum height requirement, many taller adults report feeling cramped throughout the experience. The seats offer limited legroom, and the lap bar can make the space feel even tighter.
Some guests find themselves sitting with their knees pushed upward or pressed against the front of the train. Others say the compact seating makes the coaster feel rougher than it actually is.
Parents often accept the discomfort because they want to ride with their children, but that does not stop the attraction from generating regular complaints about space and comfort.
TRON Presents Another Set of Challenges
At the opposite end of the spectrum sits TRON Lightcycle / Run.
The futuristic coaster features a motorcycle-style seating position that has become one of its defining characteristics. Riders lean forward into the Lightcycle, creating an experience unlike anything else at Walt Disney World.
However, not every guest finds the design comfortable.
Some plus-size riders struggle with the standard seating arrangement. Disney offers an accessible vehicle with a more traditional seat, but availability remains limited.
As a result, guests who need that option may face additional waiting after already standing in the attraction's main queue. During busy days, that extra delay can add to an already lengthy experience.
Disney Fans Want More Accessibility
Most guests understand that ride designers face difficult challenges when creating attractions for millions of people.
Still, many visitors believe Disney can do more. Whether it is creating additional space on family coasters like Barnstormer or expanding seating options on attractions like TRON, fans continue calling for improvements.
With Disney investing heavily in new rides and experiences, many guests hope accessibility and comfort remain part of that conversation. After all, everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the magic without feeling squeezed into a ride vehicle or stuck waiting even longer for a seat that works for them.
