Free Disney+ Perks Just Dropped, and One Is Turning Heads

Disney+ subscribers are sitting on free money, and a lot of them don't even know it.

Every Friday this summer, Disney has been loading up the Disney+ Perks Dashboard with a fresh round of giveaways, deals, and sweepstakes. New week, new drop. And the latest batch, which landed July 10, is the richest one yet.

Here's what just hit the dashboard.

The $596 Prize Pack Everyone Will Be Chasing

The headliner is a sweepstakes for the complete Disney x Pandora Moana collection, timed perfectly to the live-action Moana‘s release in theaters the very same day.

The official rules spell out exactly what one winner walks away with: the Moana Ocean Wave Ring, the Moana Flower Ring, the Moana Flower Dangle Charm, a Heihei Charm, a Pua the Pig Charm, a Snake Chain Slider Bracelet, and a limited-edition reversible Moana tote bag. Total approximate retail value: $596.

The clock is already running. The sweepstakes ends July 24, and the rules allow one entry per person per day, so the serious contenders will be entering daily until the window closes. Entry is open to US residents and D.C. residents 18 and older, the drawing lands August 3, and the rules include a free mail-in entry route for anyone who wants in without a subscription. No purchase necessary, as the fine print says.

Three exciting promos for Disney fans: win an Alaskan cruise adventure, dazzling Moana-themed jewelry, or exclusive savings on your Walt Disney World Resort getaway—plus unlock special Free Disney+ perks along the way.

A Gym Deal Hiding in a Streaming App

The second new perk has nothing to do with movies at all. Disney+ linked up with Planet Fitness to offer subscribers a membership for $1 down with the first month free, on either the Classic or Black Card tier.

The catch, because there is always a catch: once the free month ends, the Classic renews at $15.99 a month and the Black Card at $24.99. Anyone who joins and ghosts the gym will still see those charges roll in. Anyone who actually goes just got the cheapest trial month in fitness.

A Signed Margaret Atwood Book Is on the Table Too

The third drop targets the literary crowd. Subscribers can enter to win a signed copy of Margaret Atwood's The Testaments, the novel that inspired the hit Hulu series.

This one runs on different rules than the Pandora sweepstakes. Entries are allowed once per day through July 31, which means the daily-entry grinders have an edge again. A signed Atwood does not show up on a giveaway dashboard often.

The Vault Goes Deeper

Those three join a perks rotation that has been stacked since the start of summer. Still floating around the dashboard: a sweepstakes for an Alaskan expedition cruise, a shot at attending the Camp Rock 3 premiere, and 20 percent off a D23 Gold plan upgrade.

Jewelry, gym deals, books, cruises, premieres. The spread is wide on purpose, and it means nearly every subscriber demographic has bait on the hook.

What Disney Is Really Playing At

Nobody drops free stuff every Friday for months out of pure generosity. The obvious read: Disney is either sweetening the pot to convert people who never subscribed, or luring back the crowd that canceled and moved on. The mail-in entry option even lets non-subscribers into the biggest sweepstakes, which conveniently puts the perks program right in front of the exact people Disney wants to win over.

Whatever the endgame, subscribers are the ones cashing in right now. Free entries, dollar gym months, and a shot at nearly $600 in Pandora jewelry, all for a subscription most people already pay for.

Another drop is expected next Friday. Smart money says check the dashboard before everyone else does.
