Three major Disney projects are officially headed for a 2027 debut, giving guests plenty to look forward to across the Florida resort.
The lineup stretches beyond new rides. An entirely new land is coming, another Disney hotel is rising near Magic Kingdom, and a decades-old attraction will return with a very different story.
Those are only the projects with confirmed 2027 timelines. Construction is also progressing on other major additions that could make the year even bigger.
For now, here's what Disney has officially placed on the 2027 calendar and what else remains worth watching.
Tropical Americas Leads the 2027 Lineup
One of the biggest transformations will unfold at Disney's Animal Kingdom, where Pueblo Esperanza will welcome guests in 2027.
The 11-acre community will serve as the centerpiece of Tropical Americas. Disney is drawing inspiration from Central and South America while giving Pueblo Esperanza its own history and culture.
Two major attractions will headline the new land.
Indiana Jones will star in an adventure unlike any other Disney attraction featuring the character. The story will send Indy into a preserved Maya temple while he searches for a mythical creature.
Another attraction will introduce Disney's first ride-through experience inspired by Encanto (2021). Guests will venture inside the Casita and follow Antonio after he receives his magical ability to communicate with animals.
There will also be plenty to experience outside the rides.
A large fountain will create a gathering place within Pueblo Esperanza. Disney is adding a working carousel featuring carved animals from Disney stories, along with a themed play area for families.
Guests will also find a large hacienda housing one of Walt Disney World's biggest quick-service restaurants.
Disney has confirmed Tropical Americas will officially open in 2027.

A New Disney Hotel Opens Along Bay Lake
While Animal Kingdom prepares for a new land, another major project is taking shape near Magic Kingdom.
Disney's Lakeshore Lodge is scheduled to open in summer 2027 along Bay Lake.
Nature will play a major role throughout the waterfront resort, with Disney storytelling incorporated into the property. Disney has positioned the hotel as a place where families can spend time together and reconnect with the outdoors.
The location will also put guests within a boat ride of Magic Kingdom.
Another major feature will be The Wetlands. Disney is creating the large outdoor recreation area just beyond the hotel's lobby, adding another space for families to enjoy outside the parks.
Construction continues on Lakeshore Lodge as Disney reveals additional details about what guests can expect.
However, not every big 2027 project involves building something entirely new.

Carousel of Progress Jumps Into New Decades
A familiar Tomorrowland attraction will have a very different story when it welcomes guests again.
Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress closed in July 2026 for an extensive transformation. Disney expects the updated attraction to return in 2027.
One of its biggest additions will actually happen before the Carousel family story begins.
Disney is creating a new introductory scene featuring an Audio-Animatronics figure of Walt Disney. The moment takes inspiration from a 1964 television special in which Walt introduced Carousel of Progress before the New York World's Fair.
The Carousel family will then travel through completely different periods.
Act One moves to 1969 and the historic moon landing. Act Two takes place on Halloween night in 1985, when Sarah assumes a bigger role.
The third scene jumps to New Year's Eve 1999 as the family approaches the new millennium and experiences the growing impact of the Internet.
Disney will then take the family into a possible distant future filled with advanced technology, space travel, and a helpful robot.
Even with those major changes, “There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” isn't going anywhere.

Could Disney Add More to 2027?
Three projects have confirmed 2027 timelines, but others remain possibilities.
Monstropolis is currently under construction at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The Monsters, Inc. (2001) land will feature a suspended coaster based on the door vault sequence, alongside dining, shopping, and other experiences.
Disney hasn't announced an opening year. Outside projections have pointed toward 2027 or 2028.
Piston Peak National Park also continues moving forward at Magic Kingdom. The expansion will introduce two attractions based on the Cars universe.
Disney hasn't announced when Piston Peak will open. Outside projections have ranged from a possible late-2027 debut to 2028 or 2029.
That means neither project officially belongs on the 2027 schedule yet.

2027 Is Already Shaping Up to Be Huge
Disney doesn't need either project to make 2027 a significant year.
Tropical Americas will bring an entire land and two attractions to Animal Kingdom. Lakeshore Lodge will add another Disney hotel, while Carousel of Progress will return with Walt Disney with completely redesigned decades.
And with several other projects still moving forward, the final 2027 lineup may not be complete just yet.
