Disney's Beach Club just added another refurbishment. The lobby this time. And that is not even the one you should care about.
Some context.
Look, finding a Walt Disney World Resort hotel without a construction wall on it right now is genuinely hard. Maintenance cycles, deferred work catching up, bigger reimaginings, take your pick. Crescent Lake has been busy. The monorail loop has been busy. The BoardWalk is still rebuilding its entertainment district. Yachtsman Steakhouse just came back from fifteen weeks dark.
Checking construction notices is now part of trip planning.
So here is another one.
Until mid-September, the lobby at Disney's Beach Club Resort is under maintenance. Every guest walks through that space.
And there is more already going on there.
The Lobby at Beach Club
Handled in phases, not all at once.
Parts of the lobby may be temporarily closed off, with alternate travel routes in place. Guests may see or hear construction between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. while work is happening.
That window is actually good news. Ten to six is most of the day, sure, but early mornings and evenings should be quiet. Rope drop before ten or roll back in after six, and you might not notice much at all.
Done by mid-September. Short-term problem.
Now the Real Story
Here is the part that keeps getting buried.
The lobby is not a big project. Disney says Beach Club is undergoing visible exterior maintenance through late 2027.
That work affects views from various spots around the resort and sometimes requires alternate paths of travel. Guests may see or hear it during daytime hours until it is finished.
Late 2027. That is a long, long runway.
Anyone booking between now and then should walk in expecting visible work and understand that room views may be affected.
That is what will actually ruin somebody's week. A wall in a hallway is annoying. Paying deluxe resort rates and opening your curtains to scaffolding is a whole different feeling. Ask about it when you book. Ask again at check-in.
Transportation Stuff at Beach Club
Two more things that are easy to miss.
The Friendship Boat dock at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts was scheduled to be closed for maintenance through late August 2026. During that time, direct buses ran from Beach Club to Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT guests just used the walkways to the International Gateway. Timing says that one is wrapping or already done, but confirm before you count on a boat.
Looking ahead, Disney Skyliner shuts down for refurbishment January 24 through January 30, 2027. Complimentary buses will run during it.
If you are the type who plans around walking and boats instead of buses, those are your two dates.
What Still Works
None of this touches the reasons people fight for this resort.
Beach Club is a New England-style deluxe on Crescent Lake, sharing amenities with its more formal sister property, Disney's Yacht Club Resort.
Stormalong Bay is the whole ballgame. Routinely ranked the best resort pool at Walt Disney World. Sand-bottom pools, lagoons, and spas, exclusive to Yacht and Beach Club guests. That pool books rooms all by itself.
Then there is the location. Walking distance to EPCOT through the International Gateway, which drops you right by the United Kingdom and France pavilions. Real advantage for rope dropping Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, and you can walk back to your room mid-day without waiting on anything.
There is a Skyliner station at the International Gateway, too, connecting to Hollywood Studios and other resorts. Between that, boats, walkways, and buses, this is one of the easiest resorts on the property to do without a car.
Mini-powerboat rentals on Crescent Lake. Club Level Suites available.
So What Do You Do
Heads-up, not a cancellation notice.
The lobby work is temporary with a hard end date. Expect a different path to the front desk and some daytime noise.
The exterior work through late 2027 is what you plan around. If your view matters at all, ask at booking and ask again at the desk.
Counting on Friendship Boats or the Skyliner? Verify before you go.
Everything that makes the EPCOT resort area great is still there. Stormalong Bay is open. The EPCOT walk is open. Yacht Club, Beach Club, and BoardWalk dining are all minutes apart.
You are just checking into a hotel with work happening. Better to know that now than at the front desk.
