Disney has confirmed a new closure at Walt Disney World Resort, this time affecting dining and lounge service at Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter.
Scat Cat's Club – Café and Scat Cat's Club – Lounge will close for refurbishment beginning October 6, 2026, according to WDWMagic. The announcement gives guests with upcoming reservations at the resort advance notice to adjust their expectations for dining and beverage service during their stay.
Scat Cat's Club – Café functions as the primary quick-service dining location at Port Orleans – French Quarter. It is best known among guests for its Mickey-shaped beignets, served dusted with powdered sugar alongside dipping sauces, in addition to coffee, pastries, and other breakfast offerings. The adjacent lounge, Scat Cat's Club, operates as a themed bar reflecting the resort's New Orleans-inspired design, offering specialty cocktails and light bites for guests in the evening hours.
Port Orleans – French Quarter is one component of the two-resort Port Orleans complex, the other being Port Orleans – Riverside. The French Quarter is generally noted for its smaller footprint, wrought-iron balcony architecture, and Mardi Gras-themed design elements, positioning it as a preferred option among moderate-tier resort guests seeking shorter distances to dining and transportation hubs.
Reopening timelines differ between the two spaces. Current reporting indicates the café is projected to reopen in December, while the lounge is expected to remain closed longer, with a reopening target of January 2027. The seasonal Ghoulish Delight beignet will remain available at that location, but only through November 1.
