If you've got a stay booked at Disney's Yacht Club Resort in the near future, here's something worth knowing before you roll up with your bags: the entrance you're picturing isn't the one you'll actually use.
This is all part of the ongoing refurbishment touching both the Yacht Club and its next-door neighbor, the Beach Club. It's a big project, and Disney isn't tackling it in one clean sweep. Instead, crews are working section by section across both EPCOT-area resorts, so right now you'll find some areas looking crisp and newly finished while others remain wrapped in tarps and scaffolding. The whole effort is expected to run into 2027, though not every part of it is on the same timeline.
Here's the breakdown: Yacht Club's exterior work is on track to be done by late 2026. Beach Club, on the other hand, is looking at a longer runway, with its portion of the project expected to continue into late 2027. So if you're comparing the two resorts for an upcoming trip, that timing difference might matter to you.
Disney hasn't been shy about setting expectations here, either. The official Walt Disney World website includes a notice explaining exactly what guests should prepare for: “Disney's Yacht Club Resort is undergoing visible exterior maintenance through late 2026, which will impact views from various locations throughout the Resort hotel and, at times, require alternate paths of travel,” the notice reads. “Guests may see or hear work in the area during daytime hours until the refurbishment is complete.”
And even after that exterior work is finished, don't pencil in a completely uninterrupted stay just yet — January 2027 brings the Disney Skyliner's annual maintenance closure, which will take that transportation option out of commission for a while at this resort too.
But let's talk about what's happening right now, because it's the part most likely to affect your very next trip. Construction has moved into the resort's central building, and that means the classic main lobby entrance is currently blocked off with plywood and scaffolding. Standing right in front of it is a sandwich-board sign with the familiar “Pardon Our Pixie Dust” message, pointing arriving guests toward a walkway off to the right, as WDWNT recently reported.
Follow that path and it takes you alongside Ale & Compass Restaurant before looping you into the lobby through a side entrance instead of the doors you might remember from past visits.
So here's the practical advice: when you pull up to Yacht Club, resist the urge to walk straight for the main doors. Head for the sidewalk near Ale & Compass instead — that's your real point of entry and exit for the time being. It's a small extra walk, but Disney has the route marked clearly the whole way, so you shouldn't have trouble finding it.
Bottom line for anyone booking Yacht Club or Beach Club between now and 2027: go in expecting scaffolding, some noise during the day, and a slightly different arrival routine than you might remember. It's temporary, but it's very much part of the experience for the time being.
