A storefront that's sat empty at Disney Springs since earlier this spring is finally showing signs of life, as a newly filed construction permit confirms progress toward reimagining the space as Vuori. However, an exact reopening timeline remains unclear.
The Permit Behind the Update
Walt Disney World Resort filed a Notice of Commencement on September 28 for the “installation of signage” at 1530 E. Buena Vista Dr. #1H, a storefront situated in the Town Center neighborhood at Disney Springs. Shark Signs is named in the filing as the third-party vendor handling the installation.
This particular address once belonged to Shore, one of the earliest third-party tenants to open in Town Center when Disney Springs debuted in 2016, following the rebrand from the former Downtown Disney. The resort-style clothing retailer closed permanently in May after holding a clearance sale, though it continues to operate a location in Longboat Key, Florida, as well as an online store.
Rumors about a replacement tenant surfaced almost immediately following Shore's closure, when an earlier construction permit hinted that Vuori, an athletic apparel brand, might be taking over the vacant space. Disney Springs confirmed those rumors in June, announcing on its official Instagram account that Vuori was “coming soon.”
What's Changed at the Site
The storefront remained largely dormant throughout the summer, aside from promotional signage teasing Vuori's eventual arrival. That started to shift a few weeks ago, when the awnings above the space were repainted, likely in preparation for the new signage referenced in this week's permit.
WDW News Today shared an image on Facebook showing the blocked-off storefront alongside its newly painted awnings.
Despite this progress, Walt Disney World Resort has not confirmed an official opening date for Vuori at Disney Springs.
