Universal Pulls Popular DreamWorks Attraction Offline Again Starting October 3

Universal Studios Florida is about to lose another attraction, and the timing of this particular closure makes it worth watching.

Beginning October 3, guests visiting DreamWorks Land will find one of the area's interactive experiences unavailable. Universal has confirmed the closure, but there's currently one major piece of information missing.

Guests don't know when it will be back.

Po Live! Is Closing October 3

Po Live! will temporarily close at Universal Studios Florida beginning October 3.

Located in the Kung Fu Panda section of DreamWorks Land, Po Live! gives guests an opportunity to interact with Po through an animated screen. Rather than simply watching a prerecorded show, visitors can communicate with the character as he jokes with the audience and shows off his kung fu skills.

It's especially geared toward families with younger children, making it a different type of experience from the rides found elsewhere at Universal Studios Florida.

Universal hasn't announced how long the upcoming closure will last.

That's particularly interesting because Po Live! already spent a significant amount of time closed earlier this year.

Universal Just Refurbished the Attraction

Po Live! closed in the middle of May alongside Po's Kung Fu Training Camp for an extended refurbishment.

That project kept the attraction unavailable for roughly six weeks before it finally returned in early July.

Now, only a few months later, Universal is taking Po Live! offline again.

Universal hasn't said whether this closure is related to the previous refurbishment or if an entirely different issue needs attention. Without an explanation from the company, there's no way to know exactly what's happening behind the scenes.

Still, having another closure arrive so soon after a lengthy refurbishment makes this one stand out.

DreamWorks Land Continues to Change

Po Live! isn't the only part of DreamWorks Land that has experienced changes since the area opened in 2024.

Over in the Shrek section, guests originally found sprinklers that created another water-play opportunity for children. Those sprinklers have since disappeared, and Universal paved over the area, leaving cement where the water feature once operated.

Other elements around DreamWorks Land have also required attention since opening.

That doesn't mean there's a larger problem with the land, and Universal hasn't connected the upcoming Po Live! closure to any previous changes. However, it does show that Universal continues to make adjustments to an area that is still relatively new.

There's No Return Date Yet

DreamWorks Land will remain open while Po Live! is unavailable, so families can still experience the area's other attractions, play spaces and character offerings.

The bigger question is how long this particular closure lasts.

Po Live! already disappeared for weeks earlier this year. After reopening in July, guests may not have expected another shutdown to arrive so quickly.

Beginning October 3, however, Po will once again be unavailable.

This time, Universal hasn't told guests when he'll return.

Andrew Boardwine

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
