After several days of refurbishment work, Walt Disney World has finally removed the temporary barriers surrounding a popular location at Magic Kingdom.
Guests visiting Fantasyland recently noticed something unusual happening near one of the park's most recognizable themed areas.
Large planters had appeared around part of the location, blocking visitors from getting a clear look at a familiar decorative feature.
The work came after months of visible deterioration, raising questions about when Disney would finish restoring the area.

Now, the barriers are gone, and guests can see the completed project for themselves.
The latest change might not involve a new attraction, but it restores an important detail that helps bring one of Disney's animated stories to life.
Disney World Removes Barriers From ‘Tangled' Area
Disney has completed the repainting of the colorful mural outside the Tangled-themed restrooms in Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland.
The finished artwork was visible on October 21, 2026, with the rolling planters previously surrounding the project removed.
The mural decorates the exterior of the restroom building, beginning above the entrance before continuing down the wall and onto the surrounding pavement.
Inspired by Rapunzel's artwork in Tangled (2010), the design features colorful flowers, decorative patterns, and sun symbols.
Over time, however, the artwork had lost much of its original appearance.
Photos taken during August and September showed significant fading across several sections of the mural.
Some darker colors had nearly disappeared from the entrance area, while the portion painted onto the pavement showed noticeable scuff marks.
Disney eventually began restoring the artwork, bringing back its original colors rather than introducing a completely different design.
The finished mural now features vibrant shades of gold, lavender, pink, and purple.
Why Disney Blocked Off Part of Fantasyland
Guests first noticed large rolling planters surrounding the mural earlier in October.
Although the planters temporarily restricted access to portions of the decorated exterior, they didn't completely block the restroom entrances.
Instead, Disney used them to separate the work area from passing visitors while crews refreshed the paint.
By October 19, portions of the artwork above the entrance appeared nearly complete, although the planters remained in place around the lower section.
That changed by October 21, when the completed mural was fully visible.
The latest project marks another restoration for the location, which received similar attention in June 2025.
In both cases, Disney kept the original artwork and focused on restoring its appearance.
The frequent maintenance isn't particularly surprising considering the mural's location.
Unlike decorations placed entirely on building walls, this design extends directly onto the pavement.
That means thousands of guests can walk across portions of the artwork, gradually wearing down the painted surface.
Florida's sunshine and frequent thunderstorms can also contribute to fading.
By refreshing the mural, Disney can maintain its colorful appearance without completely redesigning the location.

A Familiar Magic Kingdom Feature Returns to Normal
The Tangled restroom area has become a memorable part of Fantasyland despite not offering a traditional attraction.
Located near “it's a small world” and the entrance to Liberty Square, the space features architecture and decorations inspired by Rapunzel's kingdom.
Its lanterns and colorful details have made it a popular location for photographs, particularly among guests who appreciate Disney's smaller themed environments.
The recent work also comes after the restroom facilities underwent a separate refurbishment earlier in 2026.
Now, with the exterior mural finished and the temporary planters removed, the area has returned to its familiar appearance.
Disney hasn't announced a new attraction or additional entertainment experience connected to the completed project.
For visitors, the biggest difference is simply that the once-faded artwork looks colorful again.
And while major construction projects elsewhere at Magic Kingdom continue attracting attention, this smaller Fantasyland improvement shows that Disney is also working to maintain the details guests already know.
For anyone planning a visit in the coming weeks, the restored mural is once again available to enjoy without temporary barriers covering its colorful design.
