A Foodie’s Guide to the Magic Kingdom

While some guests love visiting the parks to meet their favorite characters and experience the nighttime entertainment.  Others insist on a detailed FastPass+ itinerary that will allow them to ride all of the great attractions without having to wait in a long line.  But, the best part of visiting the Magic Kingdom is dining in the restaurants and tasting all of the snacks.  Regardless if you are looking for popcorn and a pretzel or something much more unique, you’ll definitely want to consult this guide to the food of the Magic Kingdom.

Main Street, U.S.A.

Some of the best snacks in the Magic Kingdom can be found as you enter the Magic Kingdom.  Guests can grab some popcorn and a soda right in front of the town hall..  Over on the other side of the Town Square, guests will find the table service restaurant on Main Street, Tony’s Town Square — offering guests homestyle Italian dishes.

After your meal, if you are in need of some dessert, guests can grab some sweets at the Main Street Bakery.  Kids will love being able to watch candied apples and other culinary creations being made, as well as the diverse selection of candy.  Further on down Main Street, guests can also grab dessert at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor offering cones and dishes of everyone’s favorite ice cream! 

Looking for a sandwich and a great view?  You may want to make a reservation for a table at the Plaza Restaurant which looks out over the Hub.  Guests wanting a memorable dining experience can find one at the Crystal Palace — guests dine on a buffet of delicious offerings while being able to meet Winnie the Pooh and his friends!  In a hurry?  Grab a delicious hot dog with a variety of unique offerings from Casey’s Corner — it is perfect for a snack while watching the Festival of Fantasy Parade or while crisscrossing the park in search of your next ride!

Adventureland

Off the left hand side of the Hub, guests entering Adventureland should always make time for a stop at the Sunshine Tree Terrace.  Guests will find the classic Citrus Swirl, as well as other cool culinary creations — in the summer months, we are prone to the floats which offers the classic swirls accompanied with a refreshing soda.

As you continue walking into Adventureland, you’ll find Skipper’s Canteen — this table service restaurant offers the zany antics of the Jungle Cruise along with adventurous offerings for guests.  The menu offers classic entrees with some exotic spices and offerings.  During a hot afternoon in the park, you’ll want to take advantage of the Mobile Ordering function on your My Disney Experience app to order a Dole Whip from Aloha Isle in the heart of Adventureland. 

Nearby guests can grab soda and popcorn or opt for a more adventurous offering from a snack cart that offers unique egg rolls.  Across from Pirates of the Caribbean, guests visiting during busier times of the year can grab a meal from Tortuga Tavern — usually this counter-service offerings serves up various forms of barbecue for guests to enjoy.

Frontierland

Our favorite land for rides, Frontierland also offers some great options for snacks — in a trio of snack carts, guests can find the famous Magic Kingdom popcorn, as well as the indomitable Mickey pretzel with cheese sauce, as well as the cinnamon sugar dusted churro!  If you are looking for something more substantial, you’ll want to grab a table and a meal at Pecos Bills Tall Tale Inn — we recommend using the Mobile Order function through the app as it is often very busy inside.

Guests can even top their orders with their choice of toppings from the toppings bar!  Finally, guests can grab something for their sweet tooth inside one of the shops in Frontierland – the menu is constantly changing, so be sure to meander on through! 

Liberty Square

For such a small parcel of land, Liberty Square has a lot to offer!  We would recommend a stop at Sleepy Hollow (located just over the bridge from the Hub) on any trip — guests can find a smattering of options for snacking – fresh waffles covered with a chocolate-hazelnut spread and fruit, funnel cakes, and more!  If you need to take a break and sit down, guests will love the all-you-care-to-enjoy platter offered at the Liberty Tree Tavern.

The Diamond Horseshoe may be open during your trip based on how busy the park is, but they also offer unique offerings that may appeal to you — be sure to check the menu when you visit.  Guests wanting a snack on the go can find it at the Liberty Square Market — guests fill find fruit, chips, as well as hot dogs for purchase at this location outside of the Hall of Presidents.  Finally, a crowd favorite can be found at the Columbia Harbor House — guests can find seafood, chicken, and sandwiches at this two-story location that offers some great views of Liberty Square.  Again, since it is very popular — use mobile ordering to cut down on your wait time!

Fantasyland

Pinnochio

Guests looking for options in Fantasyland will not have to look far — eating on the run, guests can choose between Pinocchio’s Village Haus that offers flatbreads and other options while overlooking the beginning of it’s a small world.  Closer to Cinderella Castle, guests will find Friar Nook’s where guests can find different takes on the classic macaroni and cheese.  Next door at Storybook Treats, guests can get a delicious desserts like a classic sundae or ice cream floats! 

If you want a more substantial meal, guests should check out Be Out Guest, an immersive experience that gives guests the opportunity to sample the grey stuff after their meals or they can grab a reservation for the character dining experience at Cinderella’s Royal Table inside of Cinderella Castle where guests can have a great meal while meeting some of their favorite princesses.

The Chesire Café straddles the line between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, but guests can grab a delicious treat, as well as coffee, water, sodas, and juices.  Lastly, guests wanting a snack on the go can find great options at either Gaston’s Tavern which offers sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, and healthy options like celery and carrot sticks.  Near Ariel’s Grotto, guests will also find Prince Eric’s Village Market featuring a turkey leg, pretzels, donuts, and cookies.

A part of Fantasyland, but Storybook Circus features to unique options for guests.  First, guests can find all of the Magic Kingdom favorites of churros, pretzels, and popcorn near the entrance.  Second, guests will want to check out Big Top Souvenirs that has a Main Street Bakery set-up where guests can find and watch handmade culinary creations for their enjoyment!

Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland offers guests a lot of food on the go — at the Rockettower Plaza, guests will find the Lunching Pad offering standard offerings like sandwiches, hot dogs, as well as pretzels and a churro.  For dessert, guests can try Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies for sundaes, floats, and milkshakes!  If you need to sit down and enjoy your meal, try Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café — guests can have burgers and dogs, but adorn them with their own choice of toppings from the toppings bar.  During busy times of the year, guests can also dine at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant which has similar offerings to Cosmic Ray’s, but with the benefit of nice, covered, outdoor seating for guests to relax in and enjoy the view.
