A New Muppets Attraction Is Reportedly Coming to Disney World

Fans of the Muppets are in for some exciting news. Following the closure of Muppet*Vision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on June 7, 2025, rumors are now swirling about a brand new Muppets attraction potentially coming to Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom Park. According to insider reports, Walt Disney Imagineers might be exploring the idea of replacing the Hall of Presidents with a Muppet-themed show, and the idea has fans buzzing with excitement.

The closure of Muppet*Vision 3D marks the end of an era for the Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The iconic attraction, along with the entire Muppets Courtyard area, including PizzeRizzo and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, shut down to make way for a Monsters, Inc. (2001) land. The new Pixar-themed area will feature a door roller coaster and a family-friendly attraction. The change left many wondering about the future of the Muppets at the Central Florida Disney parks.

Luckily, the Muppets aren’t entirely leaving Walt Disney World Resort. In fact, Disney already has plans to retheme the Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith to feature The Muppets Mayhem, a musical show currently streaming on Disney+. This new version of the coaster is set to debut in 2026, while the current ride will continue operating through the end of 2025. But a recent rumor suggests this may not be the only Muppets-themed attraction coming to Walt Disney World Resort.

The rumor comes from theatre and entertainment TikToker @sweatyoracle, who claims to have insider information from sources at both The Jim Henson Company and Disney. The TikToker shared their findings in a video, stating: “I swear I have vetted this with multiple sources inside the Muppets and inside of Walt Disney World. What if I told you aside from the Muppets taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the Muppets are getting another new attraction at Walt Disney World? Another new attraction that you’re going to find completely unbelievable, because it took multiple people to convince me of this.”

According to @sweatyoracle, whispers about this potential project have been circulating since 2016, around the time of Donald Trump’s first presidential election. The TikToker explained that Walt Disney World Resort has long been considering replacing the Hall of Presidents, as the show requires expensive updates whenever a new president is elected.

“I hear Disney has opted to get out of the politics game involving presidents,” @sweatyoracle continued. “…It is going to be replaced by a live puppet show featuring the Muppets doing a satirical take on American history, particularly the presidential process.”

The idea of an educational Muppet show isn’t new. According to the TikToker, the concept dates back to when former Disney CEO Michael Eisner first pushed for the creation of Disney’s America, a patriotic theme park in Virginia. Although the park never came to fruition, the Muppets concept remained on the table. By 2016, Imagineers had reportedly proposed two options to replace the Hall of Presidents.

“I heard Disney was considering two options for the Hall of Presidents,” the TikToker said. “One was, they wanted Lin-Manuel Miranda and ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic to put on a musical show together that would be shown on the screen…and neither of them were really interested…The other was replacing it with the show featuring the Muppets.”

The rumor also points to declining crowds at the Hall of Presidents, the costs of maintaining the attraction, and a politically charged environment. This, the TikToker claims, led to Disney’s alleged decision to replace the show with a Muppets attraction.

If the rumor proves true, it wouldn’t be the first time the Muppets appeared in Liberty Square. From 2016 to 2020, guests could enjoy “The Muppets Present … Great Moments in American History,” a live outdoor show in Liberty Square. Featuring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and other beloved Muppets characters, the show gave guests a humorous take on American history from the second-story windows of the Liberty Square buildings. The Muppets’ return to Liberty Square in a new capacity would undoubtedly be welcomed by fans, many of whom were sad to see the outdoor show end.

The rumor spread quickly on TikTok, and Disney Parks fans are already expressing their enthusiasm.

“This is the smartest thing they could do,” said @bradyjc103. “The Muppets show in Liberty Square was fun, but logistically I can see why it would be bad for traffic flow. This would be so much better!”

Another user, @bridgie_bo0, added: “I would be in the hall of presidents all day.”

Several others have pointed out that the Hall of Presidents has yet to reopen after President Donald Trump’s reinauguration in January. This long closure has only fueled speculation about the future of the attraction.

“This makes sense,” said @mitt9468. “They’re at least talking about it considering they changed the sign out front from ‘closed to welcome the new president’ to ‘closed for refurbishment’ this time.”

Of course, as of now, Disney has not confirmed this rumor, and there has been no official word on the future of the Hall of Presidents or a new Muppets attraction.

Walt Disney World Resort has not announced when the Hall of Presidents will reopen or when construction on any potential replacement attraction could begin. For now, the rumor of a new Muppets attraction is still just that—rumor—but it’s certainly something Disney fans will be keeping an eye on.
