Two updates from Disneyland Paris this week that guests visiting the resort need to know about before they arrive.
The first involves something happening in the walkway between the parking area and the resort entrance that guests are encountering before they even reach Disney Village. The second is a change to the closing time at both parks that takes effect on August 8 and trims 40 minutes off the evening that many guests currently plan their days around.
Neither of these is a crisis. Both of them are the kind of thing that changes a visit if you do not know about them in advance.
The Vendor Situation Outside the Resort

The word “still” in that caption is doing real work. This is not a new development. These vendors have been present in the approach corridor and they are back, operating in a stretch of public space that sits between the parking areas and the official resort perimeter.
The corridor between Disneyland Paris's parking zone and Disney Village is not technically inside the resort. That geographic reality is why vendors can operate there without being immediately removed by resort security. But nothing they are selling is affiliated with Disney in any way. The merchandise, counterfeit Mickey ears based on the video, is not produced to Disney's standards, not covered by any official quality or safety guarantees, and not something the resort endorses or benefits from.
For guests who are unfamiliar with the resort layout, the approach from parking can feel like part of the Disney experience before the official Disney experience has actually begun. Vendors in that space can read as legitimate. They are not. Official merchandise is sold inside Disney Village and throughout the parks. Any purchase made outside the resort perimeter from an unlicensed seller is a counterfeit product, regardless of how similar it looks to what is sold inside.
Vendors operating this way risk being permanently banned from the property. Guests who purchase from them are generally not penalized, but they are paying real money for a product that misrepresents itself and that circumvents the resort entirely.
The straightforward advice: walk past, get inside the resort, and buy your Mickey ears from an official Disney store. The selection is better, the quality is actual Disney, and the transaction is part of your trip rather than a footnote to it.
The August 8 Hour Change
Beginning August 8, 2026, both Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World will close at 10:00 PM. Through August 7, both parks close at 10:40 PM. That 40-minute window matters more than it might seem on paper, particularly for guests who structure their evenings around late-day attractions or nighttime entertainment.
Guests who are planning visits that straddle August 7 and August 8 should note that the change is not gradual. August 7 is the last day of the current closing time. August 8 is the first day of the new one. There is no transition period.
Extra Magic Time remains unchanged. Guests holding a Disneyland Pass Gold or staying at a Disney Resort hotel or Les Villages Nature Paris continue to have access to the early morning entry window from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at one or both parks. That benefit is not affected by the closing time reduction.
What Disney Adventure World Is Right Now
For guests who have not been to Disneyland Paris since the second park's transformation, Disney Adventure World is worth knowing about before you arrive. It opened in March as a complete reimagining of the former Walt Disney Studios Park, shifting from a filmmaking theme to an immersive experience built around Disney and Pixar storytelling.
The World of Frozen is the most talked-about new addition, giving an entire themed area to the world of Frozen within a park that previously had nothing like it. The nighttime spectacular Disney Cascade of Lights is the park's signature after-dark experience. Raiponce Tangled Spin, inspired by Tangled (2010), is among the attraction additions. Walt Disney Imagineering has more in development for the park, including Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings inspired by Up (2009) and a log flume ride inspired by The Lion King (1994).
The August 8 closing time reduction applies to Disney Adventure World as well. Guests whose plans include Disney Cascade of Lights or other evening programming at the park should verify that show timing still fits within the 10:00 PM close before building an evening around it.
What to Know Before You Go
On the vendor situation: the walkway from parking to the resort entrance is where the counterfeit sellers are operating. You will likely see them. Walk past them. Buy inside the resort.
On the hour change: if your visit includes dates from August 8 onward, both parks close at 10:00 PM instead of 10:40 PM. If you are eligible for Extra Magic Time, the morning entry window from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM is unchanged and worth using.
On Disney Adventure World: if your last visit to the second park was before March 2026, you are visiting a substantially different park now. Plan time there that reflects what it has become rather than what it was.
