Brand New Kiosk Takes Over Former Disney Springs Kids Spot at Disney World

Okay, this one’s going to confuse some people. There’s a brand-new “ice cream” spot at Disney Springs, and it looks super real. But do not, we repeat, do not eat it. It’s slime.

Kawaii Slime Company just opened its new location at Disney Springs, and it took over the spot where the face painting and temporary tattoo kiosk used to be. And honestly? Kids are going to lose their minds over this.

RIP, Face Painting Kiosk

Let’s take a quick moment for the face painting kiosk. It closed back in September, and at the time, cast members didn’t even know why. For a lot of families, it was a go-to stop. A quick butterfly on the cheek or a fun temporary tattoo, and the kids were happy for the rest of the night.

Disney Springs doesn’t have a ton of kid-specific activities, so losing it was kind of a bummer. But the good news? The replacement is another hands-on activity, so the kids still get their fun.

Where to Find It

The new Kawaii Slime Company kiosk is in the Marketplace area of Disney Springs, right near Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop. This is your reminder that Ghirardelli is currently closed due to refurbishment. They do have a temporary location in Disney Springs for guests to enjoy.

Let’s Talk About the DIY Ice Cream

The star of the show is the build-your-own ice cream slime station. It’s a counter right in front of the kiosk where you can make your own slime kit that looks like ice cream scoops with toppings.

And it looks real. Like, really real. Which is why we have to say it one more time: it’s not edible. Keep an eye on the little ones.

Here’s how pricing works. A round container is $15.99, and a boba container is $16.99. Then toppings are 25 cents per gram. Just a heads up, toppings are priced by weight, so if your kid goes wild with sprinkles, that total is going to climb.

The Slime Wall Is Wild

Inside the kiosk, there are shelves full of ready-made slime in a ton of textures. We’re talking butter, cloud, glossy, clear, fluffy, crunchy, jelly cube, and floam. If you’re not a slime person, yes, those are all real slime textures. Apparently they all feel totally different.

The signature dome slimes are $18.99, and the “ice cream pint” slimes are $17.99. A lot of them are made to look like desserts, drinks, animals, or fantasy creatures, and they come with cute charms, fake sprinkles, and other fun mix-ins.

There’s More Than Slime

The kiosk also has craft supplies, keychains, and other sensory toys. And you’ll definitely want to meet Shelly the octopus, the brand’s mascot. Her plush is adorable and would make a great souvenir.

The Backstory Is So Sweet

Here’s a fun fact. Kawaii Slime Company started in 2017 because the founders’ 7-year-old daughter asked her family to make slime. What started as a family hobby turned into a whole toy company.

Now, it’s a woman-owned and minority-owned business based in the Las Vegas area. And the name? “Kawaii” is the Japanese word for “cute.” Which, yeah, makes total sense.

Quick Tips Before You Go

Watch those toppings, because they add up fast. Remind your kids the ice cream isn’t real, no matter how tasty it looks. Make sure the slime is sealed up tight before you pack it, especially if you’re flying home. And since Disney Springs doesn’t need a park ticket and parking is free, this is an easy stop any day of your trip.

Slime Over Face Paint?

We’ll miss the face painting kiosk, but Kawaii Slime Company is a pretty fun replacement. Kids still get to make something with their own hands and take it home. And parents get a few minutes of peace while the kids pick out sprinkles.

So, are you team face paint or team slime?
