Burglary Reported at Disney World Hotel on October 20

Deputies were sent to the EPCOT Resort Area at Walt Disney World Resort on Tuesday morning after a report of a hotel burglary. The call came in well after many guests had headed out for a day at the Central Florida Disney parks, and officials have shared very little so far.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at 9:54 a.m. on October 20 about a “hotel burglary” in the EPCOT Resort Area. The account @WDWActiveCrime, which monitors police activity and other emergency responses across Central Florida, shared the scanner report on X (formerly known as Twitter):

A Google Maps screenshot attached to the post places a marker in the middle of Crescent Lake. That spot is regularly used to log emergency responses throughout the EPCOT Resort Area, so it doesn't indicate where the call actually came from.

The EPCOT Resort Area covers several properties: Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Riviera Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Inn, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney's Beach Club Resort, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts, which Marriott operates. Nothing in the report says which Disney Resort hotel was involved.

What Remains Unclear

It isn't known whether the burglary took place in a guest room or elsewhere on the EPCOT Resort Area property. As of Tuesday afternoon, no police report had been published, and no criminal charges had been filed.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn't commented publicly on the incident. Operations in the EPCOT Resort Area appeared to continue normally after the morning response, so guests staying at or visiting the area can proceed with their plans as scheduled.
