CLOSED – 5 Reasons Why Disney Closes A Park

1. Maintenance

Every year Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach close for about two months of scheduled maintenance. The spruce-up is scheduled for the winter months though, when crowds are lighter, and they never close at the same times. Scheduled maintenance in the four main theme parks is done ride-by-ride to avoid a complete park shut-down. Often crews do minor maintenance overnight, so there is no impact on guests. If more major maintenance is required, a single ride may be shut down for a few weeks at a time.
