CLOSED - 5 Reasons Why Disney Closes A Park

2. Danger

Disney security is vigilant about guest safety and always reserves the right to evacuate the parks if there is a threat or concern. To date, this has only happened one time at WDW, on September 11, 2001. Reports indicate that on that day, it took less than 30 minutes to evacuate thousands of guests from the parks. Cast members were instructed to hold hands in a line to gently funnel people towards the exits, where they were given return vouchers. Resorts remained open and accommodated many stranded guests in a difficult time.
