Tomorrowland has always been a work-in-progress at Magic Kingdom Park, with attractions and dining locations constantly shifting to keep the land feeling futuristic. Now, a familiar space in the area has been torn down, leaving Walt Disney World Resort guests unable to access a once-busy snack spot.
Back in May 2025, Magic Kingdom Park guests noticed new construction walls going up around Cool Ship, a Quick Service kiosk in the heart of Tomorrowland. From the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, fans could watch the project unfold in real time as crews dismantled the structure. Within weeks, Cool Ship was completely gone—flattened until only dirt remained where the popular stand once stood.

Activity has continued at the site in recent weeks. Workers have poured a foundation, and the placement of footers suggests that the new kiosk may already be waiting offsite, prepared to be brought in and installed.
On September 3, Walt Disney World Resort filed a new construction permit for the Tomorrowland location. According to the Notice of Commencement, the project is to “Install Signage” at 1227 Monorail Way, Bay Lake, Florida, 32830, which matches the Cool Ship site.

The permit also confirms that Walt Disney Imagineering has contracted Design Communications Ltd. for the job. This company has installed signage for several other Disney projects, including work in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT’s Canada World Showcase Pavilion.
Cool Ship may have seemed like just another snack location to the average guest, selling Coca-Cola drinks, pre-packaged ice cream bars, and other classic theme park snacks. But the kiosk carried a unique piece of Disney history. The bright red spaceship that sat on top of Cool Ship wasn’t just a decoration—it was a recycled prop from Flight of the Navigator (1986).
So far, Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t shared further details about what the updated Cool Ship kiosk will look like, or if its iconic spaceship will return.
