Disney Shuts Down Cars Land Area Through July 10

More than half of the Cozy Cone Motel's dining stands are closed in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park this week, and Disneyland Resort hasn't said a word about it publicly.

WDWNT reported on July 9 that three of the five iconic cone-shaped Quick-Service locations at the Cozy Cone Motel are currently closed for refurbishment. The outlet shared a photo of the Chili Cone Queso stand with its interior shutters pulled down, capturing the unusual sight of one of Cars Land's most recognizable dining destinations sitting empty during regular park hours.

The closures break down as follows: Cozy Cone Motel Three (Chili Cone Queso) closed on July 8, while Cozy Cone Motel One (Churros) and Cozy Cone Motel Four (Frozen Cone-Coctions) followed on July 9. All three are scheduled to reopen on July 10.

Disney cast members informed WDWNT that the flooring inside each cone location is being replaced, explaining the short turnaround window and the back-to-back timing of the closures.

Cozy Cone Motel Two (Ice Cream Cones) and Cozy Cone Motel Five (Popcone) completed their own brief refurbishments earlier this week and are now back open, carrying expanded menus that include fan-favorite items from the temporarily closed cones — among them the beloved Bacon Mac & Cheese Cone and the Chili Cone Queso — to cover the gap while the other three locations are down.

Despite the scale of the closures, Disneyland Resort's official Cozy Cone Motel webpage makes no mention of any refurbishment activity and doesn't indicate that any of the five locations are currently unavailable. That's unusual — the resort typically posts temporary closure notices for dining locations undergoing construction work. No public statement about the refurbishment has been issued, leaving guests to find out about the closures only after arriving in Cars Land.
