D-Tech Custom Accessories Are Gone From Disney World as of January 1

D-Tech is dead. Gone. Finished. You can no longer get custom phone cases at Disney World, and honestly, this is the end of an era for personalized Disney souvenirs.

The last D-Tech location at Magic Kingdom closed on December 31, 2025, making New Year's Eve the final day to order personalized phone cases, watch bands, magnets, or headphone cases. All the MaDe customization kiosks at Tomorrowland Launch Depot are closed. The screens simply display ‘This ordering station is currently closed.' Cast members confirmed it's permanent.

D-Tech Was Actually Really Cool

D-Tech was always a fun activity, especially if you wanted personalized souvenirs that were unique instead of the same generic stuff everyone else buys. You could create custom phone cases featuring Disney artwork combined with your name, vacation dates, and special messages. Whatever you wanted.

Disney fans became genuinely excited when new designs were released. The artwork library was extensive. Classic characters, modern franchises, park-specific imagery, seasonal designs. Tons of options that kept getting updated, so it didn't feel stale.

And it wasn't just phone cases, though those were the most popular, since everyone has a smartphone. D-Tech also did personalized magnets for your fridge, custom MagicBands, and headphone cases for wireless earbuds. The variety meant it appealed to a diverse range of people, not just iPhone users.

The whole experience was interactive. You browsed designs on touchscreens, previewed your customized product, placed your order, and then came back later to pick up the finished item. It felt more engaging than just grabbing pre-made merchandise off a shelf.

It Didn't Disappear All at Once

D-Tech has been slowly killed off over the past few years. Disney systematically shut down locations across the resort, leaving nothing behind.

There used to be multiple D-Tech stations throughout Disney World. You had options regardless of which parks you visited. The Disney Springs location was convenient for people who weren't visiting theme parks that day but still wanted personalized items.

That Disney Springs location closed toward the end of 2025. Then, the only remaining stations were at the Magic Kingdom, specifically in Tomorrowland's Launch Depot. Now those are gone too—complete elimination of the service from Disney World.

All the ordering kiosks display closure messages. Cast Members working there confirmed that December 31 was the last day. No more D-Tech. Period.

Why Disney Ended it

Here's the thing. D-Tech had Disney branding all over it and operated inside Disney stores but it was actually run by third party company not Disney directly. Disney chose not to renew the contract with this provider. Relationship over. Service ended.

This fits pattern where Disney evaluates third party partnerships when contracts expire and sometimes just doesn't continue them. The TRON Identity Program was another third party thing in the same Tomorrowland space that also closed recently.

Disney is apparently reassessing which third party services align with current strategies. D-Tech didn't make the cut. Whether that's because of financial reasons, guest experience priorities, operational considerations, or something else entirely we don't know. Disney just decided not to continue the relationship.

You Can Still Buy Leftover Stuff Cheap at Disney

While you can't order custom personalized products anymore, there's pre-made D-Tech merchandise still available at Tomorrowland Launch Depot. Disney is clearing out inventory.

Phone cases, headphone cases, and Apple Watch bands are already marked down to $20. That's a significant discount from the original pricing. If you want Disney-branded tech accessories without personalization, you can purchase them at a low price right now.

Magnets haven't been discounted yet, but cast members said price cuts are coming soon. Disney wants to sell the remaining stock instead of storing it or disposing of it.

This clearance sale is the final chance to buy D-Tech products before inventory runs out completely and the brand disappears entirely from Disney World.

What Guests Lost

The D-Tech closure eliminates a popular option for people who enjoyed creating personalized Disney souvenirs. For guests who made customizing phone cases part of their Disney vacation tradition, this is a genuine loss.

Families who came back to D-Tech each trip to create new accessories reflecting their current visits can't do that anymore. The interactive element of designing products and picking them up later added something beyond typical souvenir shopping experience.

The personalization made products feel special and unique. You weren't buying the same thing millions of other people own. Your phone case had your name, your vacation date, and your chosen artwork combination. That created emotional attachment and sentimental value.

Other Personalization Still Exists at Disney

Disney World still has other personalization options. Mickey ears can be embroidered with names. Christmas ornaments offer a personal touch during the holidays. MagicBands can be customized through the My Disney Experience app. EPCOT's France and Italy Pavilions do perfume bottle engraving.

But none of these replace D-Tech's specific thing. Technology accessories with extensive Disney artwork libraries and onsite customization. That particular combination is gone.

If you specifically wanted custom Disney phone cases, you're out of luck now at Disney World. You'd have to look at third-party vendors outside the parks or just buy generic pre-made cases.

End of Era at Disney

The final D-Tech closure December 31, 2025 ends this chapter of Disney World personalized merchandise. The service operated for years becoming familiar option for guests wanting unique souvenirs.

Now it's finished. The kiosks are closed. The customization screens are dark. The only remaining items are discounted, pre-made products being sold during clearance.

For anyone who has enjoyed D-Tech over the years, the clearance merchandise at Tomorrowland Launch Depot is the last chance to acquire anything from this now-defunct service. Once that inventory sells out, D-Tech will be erased from Disney World like it never existed.

RIP D-Tech. You made a lot of custom phone cases and now you're gone forever.
