Global Disney Parks Descend Into Chaos—And Guests Couldn’t Be Happier

Smoke Bombs Go off Near Castle

Disney 626 to blame? This morning, guests gathered near the castle in Disneyland Paris were suddenly engulfed in thick clouds of purple and blue smoke, triggering confusion and alarm. For a moment, it seemed like something had gone terribly wrong.

But then came the laughter.

Out of the smoke storm burst none other than Stitch—Disney’s unpredictable alien troublemaker—charging through the haze to the delight of everyone watching.

What looked like chaos was actually a carefully planned surprise. And if you’re a Disney fan, you already know why.

June 26 marks a unique fan-favorite holiday in the Disney universe: 626 Day, named after Stitch’s experiment number—626. What began as a niche celebration among Lilo & Stitch lovers has turned into a full-fledged event across Disney parks.

Why This Celebration Hits Different

While many Disney character events come and go, 626 Day strikes a chord. Stitch isn’t your average mascot. He’s wild, emotional, and misunderstood—yet beloved. The fact that Disney continues to highlight him globally speaks volumes about his enduring impact.

From smoke bombs and shock reveals to fun quests and freebies, Disney knows how to make fans feel part of something bigger—something emotional.

Because as Stitch once reminded us, “Ohana means family.

Disney 626 Day: One Day. One Alien. Worldwide Ohana.

Whether you were caught in the smoke in Paris or wandering Disney Springs with a clue card in hand, this year’s 626 Day proves that Disney magic is still full of surprises. It’s about joy. It’s about mischief. And most of all, it’s about connection.

So wherever you are—grab a plush, wear some blue, and make Stitch proud.

Happy 626 Day.

Since first stepping inside the Magic Kingdom at nine years old, I knew I was destined to be a theme Park enthusiast. Although I consider myself a theme Park junkie, I still have much to learn and discover about Disney. Universal Orlando Resort has my heart; being an Annual Passholder means visiting my favorite places on Earth when possible! When I’m not writing about Disney, Universal, or entertainment news, you’ll find me cruising on my motorcycle, hiking throughout my local metro parks, or spending quality time with my girlfriend, family, or friends.
