A recent updated has been made to the My Disney Experience App that has us all curious! Walt Disney World has recently added the word “Standby” to their wait times, and we can’t help but ask… why? Could FastPass be returning soon?

Previously, when pulling up wait times via the app an example of what guests would see was “5 Minute Wait”. Now, when going into the app, guests are seeing the wait time with the word “standby”, such as “5 Minute Standby Wait”. Check out the screenshot below.

So, what does this mean? Of course, the first speculation is that FastPass or something equivalent may be returning soon. With this update, Disney could have an estimated FastPass Wait time and an estimated Standby Wait time. Of course, we really aren’t sure if FastPass will even be returning, but we do hope something like the FastPass system will return to help with the wait times.

We’re finding more and more Disney fans are asking Disney to bring back FastPasses, especially as the park capacity keeps slowly increasing as Disney loosens their COVID guidelines. What are your thoughts on why Disney has added “Standby”? Are you ready for the return of the FastPass system?
