Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Chip, and Dale will no longer meet guests in their current DinoLand U.S.A. locations at Walt Disney World Resort beginning in February 2026. Disney has not revealed when or where these fan-favorite characters will appear at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park next.

The announcement came moments after Walt Disney World Resort confirmed that the remaining portions of DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park will close permanently on February 2, 2026. The phased closure began in January 2025, when TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama (including the Fossil Fun Games), and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures were permanently retired. On September 1, The Boneyard play area welcomed its final guests.
Plans to reimagine the area were unveiled at D23 Expo 2024, when Walt Disney Imagineering announced the development of a Tropical Americas-themed land, called Pueblo Esperanza. The new land will feature two Encanto (2021) attractions, alongside an Indiana Jones retheme of DINOSAUR, and is slated to open in 2027.

With DinoLand U.S.A.’s closure, February 1, 2026, will mark the last opportunity for guests to meet Donald, Daisy, Chip, and Dale at their current Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park locations.
According to theme park journalist Scott Gustin (@ScottGustin on X, formerly known as Twitter), Walt Disney World Resort has confirmed the characters will relocate within Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park after DinoLand U.S.A. closes. However, the company has not shared any additional details regarding the timing or location of the new meet-and-greet spots.
NEW: Feb. 1 will be the final day to see Donald, Daisy, and Chip & Dale in DinoLand. After the land closes on Feb. 2, the characters will relocate to another area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, with more details to be shared later.
Currently, Donald, Daisy, Chip, and Dale entertain guests in dinosaur-themed outfits as part of Donald’s Dino-Bash! Donald Duck meets near Restaurantosaurus, while Daisy, Chip, and Dale meet at two separate locations on the Cretaceous Trail. It’s unclear whether the characters will keep their dinosaur costumes after moving to their new locations.

Guests looking to meet Donald, Daisy, Chip, and Dale during the transition still have options elsewhere in Walt Disney World Resort. These characters continue to appear at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Visitors should check the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date entertainment schedules.
