Disney+ subscribers holding onto one of the company's older streaming bundles are about to have another reason to check their monthly bills.
Disney is raising the price of its Legacy Bundle in September, eliminating the $24.99 monthly rate that existing customers have been able to keep. It's another increase at a time when many viewers are becoming increasingly selective about which streaming subscriptions deserve a spot in their monthly budgets.

And because this particular bundle is no longer sold, customers have an additional decision to make before walking away.
Disney+ Legacy Bundle Price Goes Up September 17
Beginning September 17, 2026, Disney's Legacy Bundle will increase from $24.99 to $27.99 per month.
The package includes Disney+ without ads alongside ad-supported Hulu and ESPN Select.
Disney says customers who opted into the Legacy Bundle before August 20 will see the new price reflected in their billing period on or after September 17.
The difference works out to $3 per month. Over 12 months, subscribers who keep the bundle will spend an additional $36.
While $3 might seem relatively small, streaming customers have watched monthly subscription costs steadily consume a larger portion of their entertainment budgets.
The other issue is that this isn't a package customers can simply leave and return to later.
Legacy Customers Can't Come Back
Disney no longer offers the Legacy Bundle to new customers. Existing subscribers also can't switch back to the package after moving to another plan.
That makes canceling or changing subscriptions a little more complicated.
A customer might decide that $27.99 is no longer worth paying. However, leaving means giving up access to that particular bundle permanently.
Disney's current streaming lineup includes a Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited bundle beginning at $35.99 per month. ESPN Unlimited provides a broader sports offering than ESPN Select.
An upgraded $44.99 option removes ads from Disney+ and Hulu and includes downloads, though ads can still appear during live programming and certain other content.
Even after the September increase, the Legacy Bundle remains considerably cheaper than those options.

Streaming Subscriptions Keep Getting More Expensive
That's where Disney's latest increase runs into a much larger problem facing the streaming business.
Consumers have more choices than ever, but keeping several subscriptions active can quickly become expensive.
Disney+ might only represent one piece of a household's streaming expenses. Add Netflix, Peacock, Paramount+, Prime Video, Apple TV, or other platforms, and a collection of seemingly manageable monthly charges can turn into a significant bill.
That reality has changed how people approach streaming.
Instead of maintaining every subscription throughout the year, customers can cancel services, rotate between platforms, or wait until enough new content arrives to justify subscribing again.
Disney's Legacy Bundle makes that strategy more difficult because customers who cancel can't simply return to the same package later.
September Brings a Decision for Disney+ Subscribers
Legacy customers now have until their applicable September billing cycle before the increase arrives.
For some, another $3 won't be enough to justify giving up a discontinued bundle that includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select.
Others may see the increase differently.
An extra $36 every year is still another expense, particularly for households already paying for several entertainment services.
Starting September 17, the familiar $24.99 price begins disappearing from customers' bills. And once subscribers leave the Legacy Bundle behind, there's no going back.
