Disney Confirms Return Date After Popular Yacht Club Resort Closure

Disney has finally given guests a clearer picture of when one of Walt Disney World's most popular signature restaurants will return.

For the past several months, visitors staying at Disney's Yacht Club Resort have had one noticeable dining option missing. Construction walls went up, reservations disappeared, and Disney offered few details beyond saying the closure would last through the summer.

Now, that appears to be changing.

While Disney hasn't issued a formal announcement, the company has quietly updated its reservation system, giving fans the strongest indication yet that Yachtsman Steakhouse is almost ready to welcome guests once again.

Reservations Return to Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Yachtsman Steakhouse officially closed on May 11, 2026, for an extensive refurbishment. At the time, Disney only said the restaurant would return sometime in August, leaving guests with little information about when they could once again enjoy one of Walt Disney World's premier steakhouse experiences.

Now, Disney's dining reservation calendar has begun accepting reservations starting August 28, 2026.

Although Disney has not officially confirmed that date as the reopening day, adding reservation availability typically signals that operations are preparing to resume. For guests visiting Walt Disney World during Labor Day weekend or later this fall, that's welcome news after nearly four months without one of the resort's signature restaurants.

Yachtsman Steakhouse has long been considered one of the top dining destinations around Crescent Lake. Known for its premium steaks, seafood, extensive wine selection, and refined atmosphere, the restaurant has remained a favorite for both Disney vacationers and locals looking for a high-end meal outside the theme parks.

Disney Is Keeping the Details Quiet

Even with reservations returning, one major question remains unanswered.

Disney has yet to reveal exactly what changed during the refurbishment.

The company has not released concept art, construction updates, or details about possible menu changes. It's also unclear whether the project focused primarily on refreshing the dining room or included behind-the-scenes kitchen improvements.

Many recent Disney restaurant refurbishments have emphasized updated seating, new flooring, lighting improvements, and refreshed décor while preserving each location's overall personality. Whether Yachtsman Steakhouse follows that same approach won't be known until guests begin walking through the doors again later this summer.

For longtime fans, there's also curiosity about whether any menu favorites have changed or if Disney plans to introduce new signature offerings alongside the refreshed restaurant.

Yacht Club Resort Continues to Evolve

Yachtsman Steakhouse isn't the only project taking place at Disney's Yacht Club Resort.

Earlier this year, neighboring Crew's Cup Lounge temporarily closed for its own refurbishment before reopening in May with refreshed interiors and menu updates. With that project already complete, Disney appears to be wrapping up another significant improvement at the resort.

The work comes as Walt Disney World continues investing in many of its hotels through phased refurbishment projects designed to modernize guest rooms, dining locations, and common spaces while keeping most resorts open throughout construction.

Unlike full resort closures, these phased projects allow guests to continue staying at their favorite hotels even while certain amenities are temporarily unavailable.
