One of the most groundbreaking additions to Disneyland Park for this celebration is Walt Disney – A Magical Life, a new presentation at the Main Street Opera House. For the first time ever, visitors will meet an Audio-Animatronics version of Walt Disney, the visionary who turned his dreams into the world’s most beloved theme park. This interactive experience will explore Walt’s journey, highlighting the imagination and determination that brought Disneyland to life.

A signature of any Disneyland celebration is its nighttime entertainment, and the 70th anniversary is no exception. At Disney California Adventure, the brand-new World of Color Happiness! will debut. This reimagined version of the popular water show will be hosted by Joy and her fellow Emotions from Pixar’s Inside Out. Inspired by Walt Disney’s opening-day dedication, “To all who come to this happy place: Welcome!” the show will explore the many dimensions of happiness.

Guests can look forward to scenes from Disney and Pixar classics like Turning Red, Tangled, The Lion King, and A Goofy Movie, all brought to life through a symphony of fountains, lasers, fire effects, and music. It’s an emotional journey designed to captivate audiences of all ages.

At Disneyland Park, the beloved Wondrous Journeys will also make its return. This nighttime spectacular celebrates the artistry of Walt Disney Animation Studios, transforming iconic locations like Sleeping Beauty Castle and “it’s a small world” with stunning projections. On select nights, fireworks will add an extra layer of magic to this immersive experience, which features nods to classics like Peter Pan and The Princess and the Frog, alongside modern hits like Encanto and Frozen.

Parades and Celebratory Entertainment

For those who love Disney’s famous parades, the 70th anniversary has plenty to offer. The fan-favorite Paint the Night parade will return to Disneyland Park, bringing its dazzling LED-lit floats back to the streets. This nighttime parade is a visual masterpiece, combining vibrant colors and energetic performances to celebrate Disney’s enduring magic.

Over at Disney California Adventure, the Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade will make its comeback. Featuring beloved Pixar characters like Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Joy, this parade emphasizes the power of friendship and storytelling through dynamic floats and lively music.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Disneyland Park will introduce a brand-new cavalcade called Mickey and Friends Celebrate Happy! Mickey Mouse and his pals will don colorful, anniversary-themed costumes as they make their way through the park, spreading joy and creating picture-perfect moments for guests.

A Magical Transformation

No Disneyland celebration would be complete without a stunning makeover for its centerpiece, Sleeping Beauty Castle. For the 70th anniversary, the castle will be adorned with a commemorative medallion and elegant decorations, making it the ultimate backdrop for countless guest photos.

In addition to the castle’s transformation, nighttime projections will enhance two iconic park landmarks: it’s a small world in Disneyland Park and Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure. These projections will add a whimsical layer of enchantment to the evening ambiance.

Meet the Characters in Anniversary Style

Fans of Disney’s beloved characters will have the chance to meet Mickey, Minnie, and their friends in brand-new celebratory outfits. These costumes, designed specifically for the 70th anniversary, are sure to delight guests and provide unforgettable photo opportunities.
