One of our favorite Magic Kingdom attractions, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, has been “Temporarily Unavailable” for some time now as noted “Closed for Refurbishment” on the Walt Disney World website. As previously shared, refurbishment was noted through at least January 2, 2021. Now, it looks like the refurbishment has been extended another week, through January 9.
On the MyDisneyExperience App under the “Closed for Refurbishment” portion of the calendar for January 9, 2021 Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover has been added as still being closed for refurbishment.
Since park hours have not yet been populated for January 10 and beyond, we aren’t sure if the PeopleMover refurbishment will go past January 9.

While Disney has yet to release the refurbishment details, it is rumored Disney is replacing the magnetic linear induction motors. We’re hoping we’ll be able to cruise along on the PeopleMover sooner rather than later… but we shall see!
