Excuse us while we fill your screen with a dose of cuteness that comes with the name “Barnacle Bob”. This cute loggerhead sea turtle needed a CT scan and vets knew where to turn! With the massive amount of animals in Disney’s care at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and EPCOT’s Sea Base, they have the proper equipment to handle needs of all animals in their care.
The Turtle Hospital located over 6 hours away from Walt Disney World in Marathon, Florida, needed to get Barnacle Bob as CT scan. So, they turned to Disney for help!
Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment took to Facebook to share a post by The Turtle Hospital stating, “The Turtle Hospital, joined by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and Disney’s veterinary team, was recently able to perform a CT scan on Barnacle Bob, an adult loggerhead sea turtle rescued in the Florida Keys currently in our care. We appreciate Disney’s Animal Kingdom for welcoming us into their state-of-the-art animal hospital and for their help with diagnostics. Disney shared the post with the note, “Just another reason why we love our amazing vet team who are always ready to lend their expertise to help animals in need of care!”
Hopefully Barnacle Bob will be back in the big blue swimming along with Crush and Squirt in no time. Thanks to The Turtle Hospital and Disney for their work in keeping all creatures in their care healthy and happy. Godspeed, Barnacle Bob!
