Disney Just Dropped 9 MAJOR Updates Coming to EPCOT

Disney World has been on a roll lately. Between new rides, big refurbishments, and ambitious expansions, there’s barely a quiet week at the resort. And now, the focus shifts once again to EPCOT, a park already known for embracing global culture and innovation. Disney just confirmed nine new additions coming soon—and they’re set to make EPCOT even more magical this season.

The Parks Don’t Sleep

It’s been a whirlwind at Walt Disney World. As soon as Halloween wrapped up, the parks flipped to holiday mode practically overnight. Main Street turned into a winter wonderland, twinkling lights appeared across resort hotels, and new entertainment rolled out across all four parks. EPCOT, in particular, is stepping into the spotlight with a holiday celebration that perfectly captures Disney’s global charm.

EPCOT’s Cultural Expansion

This year’s Festival of the Holidays will feature nine confirmed updates that immerse guests in storytelling and tradition. Disney’s focus is clear—each pavilion will offer something unique, blending authentic performances with the kind of magic that only EPCOT can pull off.

At the China Pavilion, the Chinese Lion Dancer will energize crowds with rhythmic drumming and elaborate costumes that celebrate good fortune. The Norway Pavilion introduces Julenissen, a mischievous Barn Santa who shares Norway’s festive traditions with plenty of humor and charm. Meanwhile, the Japan Pavilion welcomes the Daruma Storyteller, who highlights perseverance and goal-setting through the symbolism of the Daruma doll.

The Mexico Pavilion adds a beautiful cultural touch with the Las Posadas Celebration, a lively retelling of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem. Through song, color, and community spirit, this tradition fills the pavilion with warmth and energy, showing guests the heart of Mexico’s holiday season.

Guests visiting the Italy Pavilion can enjoy La Befana, the legendary witch who brings gifts to children and teaches the value of kindness. In Canada, the Canadian Holiday Voyageurs will fill the air with lively music representing the country’s cultural roots. Between the Morocco and France Pavilions, the Hanukkah Storyteller joins EPCOT for an inspiring retelling of the Festival of Lights.

Over in the United Kingdom, Father Christmas returns to charm visitors with his nostalgic stories of Victorian-era traditions, while in France, Père Noël brings a warm and joyful finale with tales of Christmas morning in France.

Changes Beyond EPCOT

Outside of EPCOT, plenty is happening across Walt Disney World. Animal Kingdom’s Zootopia: Better Together show officially opens today, marking another major entertainment debut for 2025.

Magic Kingdom is in the middle of refurbishments for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, but fans still have Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party to look forward to. Over at Hollywood Studios, Jollywood Nights is preparing to make its glamorous return, adding sparkle to the season.

Disney’s Ongoing Evolution

These nine EPCOT additions aren’t just entertainment—they’re a celebration of connection, history, and joy. They represent Disney’s broader commitment to bringing people together through shared experiences and cultural appreciation. EPCOT continues to evolve year after year, but one thing remains unchanged: its ability to tell stories that unite the world in the most magical way possible.
