In 2024, a guest died after dining at Raglan Road, an Irish eatery located in Disney Springs. Dr. Kanokporn Tangsuan, who had a known allergy to dairy and nuts, was the victim of a fatal allergic reaction stemming from a meal consumed at the restaurant.
Dr. Tangsuan and her party dined at Raglan Road, where they were assured that allergen-free food would be provided. She ordered a vegan shepherd’s pie, onion rings, corn fritters, and scallops, but the lawsuit claims that none of the dishes came with any label indicating potential allergens. After the meal, the group moved on to do some shopping at Disney Springs, but shortly thereafter, Dr. Tangsuan suffered a severe allergic reaction. Despite her ability to self-administer an epinephrine injection, she still required emergency assistance.
The lawsuit, led by her family, seeks damages exceeding $50,000, alongside costs and interest. It centers around the issues of food safety compliance and whether proper measures were taken to ensure the safety of those with allergies.

Eventually, faced with rising public discontent, Disney retracted their arbitration request.

Brian Denney, the lawyer representing Dr. Tangsuan's family, argued that there's no valid reason for Disney to designate these food test results as confidential, suggesting a lack of transparency in the proceedings. Furthermore, Denney highlighted the pattern of designating nearly every document related to the case as “confidential,” which he claims is not made in good faith.
